Particularly because, and yes I will continue beating this drum, anything Musk would do under cover of the Executive Branch would be out of the reach of the courts, or even of the DOJ to investigate.

One trait Musk has in common with Trump is opportunism.

Musk smells an opportunity for unimaginable power. Power over geopolitical matters. Power over the future of the world's, well, power. Power over - and possibly a monopoly over - space.
