So why is trump blamed for covid then??? By this logic
Christ almighty.

Trump is not blamed for the existence of Covid. He is blamed for how he made us blind to it, and then hid from it, and then how he handled it.

In contrast, gas prices today are at a three year post-Covid low. Which is data that, similar to data comparing post-Covid economic performances in peer nations, suggests that Biden’s post-Covid economic policies have worked.
Gas was under 2 dollars when Trump left office. Covid had already been around over a year at that point.

But yes. Gas is the lowest it's been biden in 3 years. And if happened right before the election. Shocking. Who would have ever saw that coming....

So please explain how trump made us blind to covid?
I did, just last week, when you asked substantially the same question.

And holy shit, if you want to point to gas prices “when Trump left office,” you’re worse at this than I thought.

The average price per gallon of gas in Jan 2021 was $2.42 a gallon. TDS has resulted in you misremembering some things.

Trump's initial reaction to covid when it was first breaking out in China was to, close down transportation to and from China. Common sense approach, would have helped a lot to slow it's spread directly into our country.

Instead he was called xenophobic and a nationalist. Sound familiar?
Kamala harris called him xenophobic and a nationalist for some of his border policies, and now she is stealing those policies are at least pretending to want to secure the border (to lure in voters)

That is absolutely NOT what he did. He didn't shut down travel from China, he restricted it and not well or effectively. He still allowed tens of thousand of people to travel here from China.

Please do some actual Google searches. I have personally corrected you on this at least twice but you don't seem to be listening or reading or learning anything.

again, this has all been covered before

he didn’t “shut down the border”…hundreds (if not thousands) of potentially infected people were still allowed into the country after his action

just stop with the lies already

he then called it a hoax, then said it would just magically disappear, then railed against testing because he was too chicken-shit to admit that he’d fucked up the initial response and didn’t want the country (and the world) to see what the true infection rate in the U.S. was, then touted unscientific and unproven treatments

and on, and on, and on…

He shut down travel China Jan 31 2020 and received heavy criticism for "xenophobia" and "racism"

He also recommended treatments, like ivermectin, which has been proven to be an effective treatment for covid. At the time the democrats led a misinformation campaign calling it horse dewormer.

He had "project warp speed" which led to the creation of a vaccine for covid while he was in office

Trump did all kinds of shit to combat covid, and the idea he did nothing or should be blamed for it is pure propaganda. No reasonable person would suggest that, just brainwashed lefties. We have a couple of those on this board tho

This is “it’s everything but the guns,” over and over and over until the heat death of the universe.

The fundamental failure with Covid - the original sin - was the administration’s politically-driven unwillingness to put even a modest effort forward to understand what and where the virus was. Everything that followed - very much INCLUDING haphazard and overbroad and in some cases premature mitigation measures - arose out of that original sin.

Again, he did not SHUT DOWN travel from China. You can keep repeating the same lie over and over but it won't make it true. Here is the statement from the White House that day. There are a whole shitload of people who had exceptions to the policy.

https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/pr ... ronavirus/

Section 1.  Suspension and Limitation on Entry.   The entry into the United States, as immigrants or nonimmigrants, of all aliens who were physically present within the People’s Republic of China, excluding the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau, during the 14-day period preceding their entry or attempted entry into the United States is hereby suspended and limited subject to section 2 of this proclamation.

Sec. 2.  Scope of Suspension and Limitation on Entry.

(a)  Section 1 of this proclamation shall not apply to:

(i)     any lawful permanent resident of the United States;

(ii)    any alien who is the spouse of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident;

(iii)   any alien who is the parent or legal guardian of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, provided that the U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident is unmarried and under the age of 21;

(iv)    any alien who is the sibling of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, provided that both are unmarried and under the age of 21;

(v)     any alien who is the child, foster child, or ward of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, or who is a prospective adoptee seeking to enter the United States pursuant to the IR-4 or IH-4 visa classifications;

(vi)    any alien traveling at the invitation of the United States Government for a purpose related to containment or mitigation of the virus;

(vii)   any alien traveling as a nonimmigrant under section 101(a)(15)(C) or (D) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15)(C) or (D), as a crewmember or any alien otherwise traveling to the United States as air or sea crew;

(viii)  any alien seeking entry into or transiting the United States pursuant to an A-1, A-2, C-2, C-3 (as a foreign government official or immediate family member of an official), G-1, G-2, G-3, G-4, NATO-1 through NATO-4, or NATO-6 visa;

(ix)    any alien whose entry would not pose a significant risk of introducing, transmitting, or spreading the virus, as determined by the CDC Director, or his designee;

(x)     any alien whose entry would further important United States law enforcement objectives, as determined by the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or their respective designees based on a recommendation of the Attorney General or his designee; or

(xi)    any alien whose entry would be in the national interest, as determined by the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or their designees.

(b)  Nothing in this proclamation shall be construed to affect any individual’s eligibility for asylum, withholding of removal, or protection under the regulations issued pursuant to the legislation implementing the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, consistent with the laws and regulations of the United States.

The fundamental failure was when it escaped the lab. You can argue that gain of function research is a worthwhile cause for scientific purposes. Probably not worth the risk, but if you don't study it, you're putting yourself at a major risk when someone else does and unleashes a bio weapon that you aren't prepared for. Or when a virus mutates naturally

That brings us back to the argument of whether it was an accidental leak or not. The global scale of the data collected on covid 19 was immense, like nothing we have ever seen before. Was that by design? Or something done in in reaction to an accidental lab leak, is the only real question that matters.

But if sure impacted the 2020 election. There is no doubt of that. Blaming trump for anything covid is ignorant, but here we are 4 years lately and the lefties prize sheep are still doing it

Sigh, I can't believe we have to keep explaining this to you.

Trump did not do the right thing, which would have been to shut down all unnecessary travel from China and to quarantine everyone who did travel between the two whether they were US citizens or not.

What he actually did was to selectively say that IMMIGRANTS were the only ones with travel restrictions, while still allowing unchecked travel from China for US citizens.

Do you understand the difference and the complaints about the difference?

You aren't even making sense.

1) "He wanted to shut it down." As in all travel from China? Prove it. I looked for any story or statement like that but was unsuccessful.

2) "He was called racist and xenophobic by everyone on the left side.". Yes, when you only ban immigrants while allowing citizens despite the fact that any of them could have had covid, then that tends to happen.

3) "So now you are saying he should have gone through with this "racist" act???" Your reading comprehension skills are terrible. I feel that he should have enacted the full ban like you claim (without proof) that he wanted to do. But even that would have just delayed the inevitable as people traveled from China to other countries and then on to the US at some point.

The precise origin of Covid - which, despite your unearned certainty to the contrary, is not known - is not all that relevant to evaluating the administration's response.

For political reasons (which, for Trump, are indistinguishable from personal financial reasons), the Trump administration failed to put forward even a modest effort at understanding what and where the virus was.

He then grossly politicized the most basic and harmless mitigation efforts.

As I have said a hundred times around here - and as should resonate for someone hell-bent on insisting they were "right" all along - the most draconian measures probably would not have been needed, at least to nearly the degree they were instituted, if we'd simply stood up a reasonable surveillance function.

Instead, Captain Horse Dewormer just injected which-way-is-the-wind-blowing confusion at every stage.
