We are sitting on the side of the hill between turns two and six but we're getting ready to go to turn seven and eight for the F1 Sprint race.

Hope you got a good place to plunk down for the race! I wish I went this year, as it turned out to be a great one!! My daughter literally had front row view of both the Mercedes spin outs, at 19.

Audio of the 911 dispatch call detailed the tragedy, with a dispatch officer telling first responders in the audio obtained by Daily Mail, "Female is locked in an oven in the bakery. Oven is on, unsure if the staff are able to turn it off."…

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Totally random thread
So I randomly tried a chestnut for the first time last night.
Was cautious in doing so, as I’m allergic to certain tree nuts.
A quick google indicates chestnuts are in a different “botanical category” than tree nuts tho.
Let’s start with a little tiny nibble and see!
No reaction.
Wait a few minutes and eat the rest.
No reaction.
Ok good!
I kinda like them. Pretty mild, meaty and chewy. The ones I had were like saturated wet/moist/damp, and a tad sticky. Are they always like that?
Either way, I still prefer peanuts, even if they’re technically a legume.

All things considered In N Out burger’s fries suck.
They just consistently taste undercooked.
Need to try asking for them extra crispy.

Re: Totally random thread
Just spent about 15-20 minutes reading and then typing responses to various posts on the poli bored.
Deleted every one of them as soon as I was done typing.
Thought to myself, why do I really care what other people said and why do I need people to read what I am thinking about - in regard/s to what they posted?
About 12,000 times with my current user name I probably should have thought/said that to myself before I hit submit.
Now please excuse me while I respond to Dick's post right before mine.

100% agree. Last time I was in LA (spring time) I went a couple of times and they were some of the worst fricking fries I have ever eaten in my life. JUNK! ASS!
Wasn't that way a year before that. Were never great or even very good but they were not nearly as bad as they were about 5-6 months ago. So.... Make it make sense - without my having to do some research to see if they have changed their potatoes and/or whatever they fry them in.

Pretty neat:
NASA’s Voyager 1, the most distant human-made object, recently reconnected with Earth using a backup transmitter last used in 1981. This legendary spacecraft, over 15 billion miles away, showcased remarkable resilience by autonomously switching systems. Discover how the Deep Space Network restored communication, allowing Voyager to continue sending data from interstellar space.

Chicagoans Who Bike
Last week we published our interview with a local young woman who started biking in 2021, and found that biking was a great way to meet friends and socialize, and loves going on group rides!

My job is mostly boring analytical stuff, behavior prediction and design to resist bad shit outcomes.
But occasionally we have things that are too complicated to model or the owner is spending so much money that they want to test. And then we get to BREAK SHIT! FUCK YEAH!
So the idea is to test the effects of Karman vortex shedding on a full scale model of a building facade. Which means spending a couple of days hanging out at this place and spending some billionaire's money to make sure something cool doesn't break in service. I don't really like South Florida but the food is good and this testing should be fucking fun to watch.
I have been at other wind testing facilities in Miami, but never at WOW. Just to see and hear this thing operate should be a trip.
If you don't know what vortex shedding is here is a brief description.

Our old printer finally bit it. Won't print, Won't recognize paper in tray 1, tray 2 just makes a horrible grinding noise.
