I couldn’t tell whether mjl was being sarcastic.

Tangential, but I had a friend spend time abroad in China. When she got back and I asked what she thought of the place, her first comment was, “actually it’s kinda nice to not be constantly advertised to”

we’re old
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

That's different. An ad on a floor or banner I can ignore.

Sure wish we had Sasha Kaun so we could be a contender.

Speaking of the Zags (and GCU)......
WSGD?
I have a choice. Either Warriors/Clippers at the Intuit Dome or Gonzaga/UCLA AND San Diego (with Steve Lavin)/GCU (with TGF and Bryce Drew) at the Intuit Dome.
One of my debates is tickets for the NCAA games about are $300 less for comparable seats and if Steph doesn't play in the NBA game, I would be disappointed.

Forgetting that....
Last season. GCU 29-4. 17-3 in conference. Beat 5 seed Saint Marys in the tournament.
Returns 4 of their top 5 players and adds 3 guys who were 4 star players/recruits and added the WAC Freshman of the year as a transfer.
I thought they weren't even an "other" in the pre-season rankings but then noticed they did get 3 "votes".
Today, 10/31/24, I am predicting they are an 8 or 9, or 10 seed in the tournament and KU plays them in the 2nd round of the tournament and KU wins by 7.

1. Kansas Jayhawks

Best case: Bill Self loading up on wing scoring pop in the transfer portal pays off, making last year’s disappointment an aberration and elevating the Jayhawks back to serious national contenders.

Worst case: Jayhawks star big Hunter Dickinson has been the centerpiece of teams that have underachieved three years in a row. Can KU build a title-winner around him?

You're an AD.
You can choose any current college coach other than Dan Hurley, Scott Drew, Bill Self, John Cal, Tom Izzo, or Rick Pitino to be your coach. Who do you choose?

Ya, feels like the jury’s still out on Scheyer.

Dunno if he’s accomplished much yet, besides elite recruiting.
