No kidding. It's so bizarre. "I will believe any shit from an anonymous source that floats across my eyes on Twitter if it supports my opinion but a link from a verifiable source that someone else saw on Twitter that doesn't support my opinion is questionable."

It wouldn't bother me as much if they weren't also the ones spazzing out about Fake News. They consume fake news at an alarming rate but will literally deny that something was said despite a direct video feed of that person saying exactly that.

You (and possibly Donald Trump) seem to be under a mistaken assumption that the Unite The Right Rally was "just a protest against removing confederate statues" organized and attended by very fine people with no association to white supremacists and that the "not very fine people" showed up and hijacked the event.

The Unite the Right rally was a white supremacist rally was ORGANIZED BY white supremacists Richard Spencer and Jason Kessler. It included members of the Nationalist Front, League of the South, Identity Dixie, Traditionalist Worker, Party Vanguard, America National Socialist Movement, the Ku Klux Klan groups Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and Confederate White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, The Daily Stormer, DezNat, #The Right Stuff, Fraternal Order of Alt-Knights, Identity Evropa, Rise Above Movement, American Guard, Detroit Right Wings, True Cascadia, Alt-Right Montreal, Hammer Brothers, Anti-Communist Action, the American militia movement groups Pennsylvania Light Foot Militia, New York Light Foot Militia, Virginia Minutemen Militia and the 3 Percenters.

They chanted racist and antisemitic slogans and carried weapons, Nazi and neo-Nazi symbols, the Valknut, Confederate battle flags, Deus vult crosses, flags, and other symbols of various past and present antisemitic and anti-Islamic groups. The organizers' stated goals included the unification of the American white nationalist movement and opposing the proposed removal of the statue of General Robert E. Lee from Charlottesville's former Lee Park.

It was a white nationalist rally, just as Obama accurately stated. It was NOT a rally that white nationalists also showed up to, which is what you seem to be trying to claim. There were NO "very fine people" on that side of it.

Throughout history, the tearing down of monuments and statues is pretty common. It's a tactic used to demoralize people. It's an attack on culture, used to erase a people's history. Typically it is not something done with good intent. There were people there to protest this concept. Trying to lump everyone into this group of "white supremacy/hate" just isn't accurate

Also trump word for word denounced white supremacy within seconds of the same phrase the left turned into a propaganda smear campaign against him. So that breaks that narrative
