Fortunately, over the last few days, I've started getting a feeling we will.

If the ship arrives where the wind sure seems to be blowing, then there needs to be a very frank discussion about the media's cynical, dangerous bothsidesing of the facts. The credulity as to thumbed-scale polls.
Because, make no mistake, the media has poured gasoline on MAGA's misinformation fire - and while that might end up being beneficial to Harris (in that late-stage turnout might have been goosed by D pantswetting over a false narrative - we're going to suffer the consequences for generations, in the form of people losing trust in the democratic process.

We will survive it however it goes. We always do. Chins up, KU hoops starts tonight!

We must rise to the moment and confront the knuckle draggers threatening our prosperity. The ones who complain about bots while not understanding what they are. Protesting the Crunchwrap prices while cheering on Putin. Kick the stupid to the curb.

Re: Let’s have a war!
is it over yet?
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Let’s have a war!
the more we hear, the more I'm convinced dems just wanted to fucking loose.
Or maybe dems are just fucking loosers?
I almost bumped the "we lost the battle for the democratic party's soul" thread.
Or just started a whole new thread entitled, "Hollowed-out carcasses..."
but instead, let's just leave this one here.

DEM INSIDERS BEGGED TEAM HARRIS NOT TO CAMPAIGN WITH LIZ CHENEY
“People don’t want to be in a coalition with the devil,” says a Democratic source who was appalled by Harris’ embrace of Dick Cheney

Meh.
I know you really think that a more progressive candidate would have done better, but I'm not sure the facts support that conclusion. At least not when it comes to the borders and the economy.
Environment? Yes. Absolutely. But that topic got largely overlooked this election cycle.

Re: Let’s have a war!
Wait, how could a progressive candidate have done any worse?
I kinda feel like goalposts have been moved again. I was talking more about how Dems internally knew their candidates and campaign sucked, but nobody did anything about it.
Now you’re onto progressive candidates. But rather than go for a point on progressive candidates in the context of the war thread, you’ve also moved onto borders and the economy and the environment.
But just outta curiousity, what facts are you using to support this conclusion?

And if we can move the goalposts back, I’d be curious to hear if you have any comment on Kamala’s decision to buddy up with the neocon Cheneys, particularly considering the whole warmongering issue was kind of a point of contention among progressive voters.
…well. Any comment beyond “meh”

Re: Let’s have a war!
Since I am, you know, a fish - all I'll say is that I believe one of the many horse carcasses in this and the other thread included the question: who exactly benefits from American voters lumping Russia/Ukraine in with Iran/Hezbollah/Hamas/Israel?
Re: Let’s have a war!
I dunno if there was necessarily as much “lumping” of those two conflicts by voters as you suggest.
Re: Let’s have a war!
Nice catch, fish!
I’ll concede, maybe that particular sentence is as phrased a little too lumpy.
So if you’d like me to clarify now, and to be honest, I just dunno if the Ukraine conflict specifically was really a top issue for most voters, even progressive voters.
As far as warmongering goes, the much bigger issue for progressive voters was Gaza.
I’m tempted to try and distinguish the reasons why, but I think that’s prob among those horse carcasses, not to mention how you’ve already been humble enough to concede your understanding of middle eastern conflicts is comparatively limited.
