Re: 2024
HERE is something I have been hearing in Chicago that I wonder if it is a nationwide issue.jhawks99 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 9:05 am I showed up 15 minutes before the polls opened. About 30 people ahead of me. When I left, the line was out of the door.
Mrs. 99 tried to vote yesterday. In our county, there is only one polling place for early voting. The line was wrapped around the building and she couldn't get into the parking lot.
Hoping that the "large turnouts are good for Democrats" holds true.
Not nearly enough "voting booths" in polling places. So...... My question is....... Why?
Was a fucking debacle for me today. Hour and a half in line to vote when it has never taken me more than 15 minutes.
Less polling place workers and a lot less voting booths (than "normal") being major factors.

I wonder who we can blame for poll workers being terrified of the job?

Not just terrified of the job for personal safety, but also the inevitable "legal" issues/disputes that they may have to become involved in/with.

Re: 2024
tacky and trashy, is what it is
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: 2024
I just saw an issues-based ("Most important issue?") exit poll that - confirmation bias and small-sample-size alert! - tracks exactly with where I think tonight is going.
Foreign Policy - 4%
Immigration - 11%
Abortion - 14%
Economy - 31%
State of Democracy - 35%
If that general split - democracy > economy; abortion > immigration - tracks, this is going to be callable tonight/early morning.
