It was fun but would have been more fun if we won by 20. Gotta give the Heels some credit for fighting their way back in.

The clean play on complex passing really got my attention. Self has a team here.

Damn right. That's why I don't coach
Or maybe Bidunga would have dunked it and maybe you (and I) would have been fine.

Glad we have HD. Glad the frosh behind looks so ready to spell him when needed. Gonna be a fun season. HD will get to take off some minutes in more games.

Oh, I totally agree. But the players should keep their mouth shut. That's what Bill is paid for.

This isn't the NBA where you've got superstars who have decades long working relationships with some of the refs.

They're really good when they stay focused. Didn't help that we missed a bunch of wide open 3's in the 2nd half.

I didn't go. I am in LFK for Dad's weekend and watched from a bar while my kid was at the game. She said she would skip the game and come watch with me but I told her you don't miss when Carolina comes to town. Glad she went. Gonna go wander Mass St now.

LOL

He needed that (HD). You're absolutely right that's he's played the smallest in the biggest moments. Tonight he did not. Despite getting a really bad 4th foul called on him. He hung in there.

And we need him to make the clutch baskets because it's so easy for him to get looks in a high % area. That seal on the last 2 he made was textbook. Hopefully he teaches Bigunga that on his way out of Lawrence.

You are right--I think the volume of calls irritated everyone and are bound to finally get some emotion. Braun was the man that way, and I think some fire is good. Did seem to lift the play

Bidunga is by far the best rebounder on the team. I understand NC was pushing the ball up after a miss but maybe they couldn't if we crashed the offensive boards more. Too many missed shots with 4 Tarheels and 0 Jayhawks under the basket.

It seemed like they got nervous/tight. They were zipping it around in the 1st half and in the 2nd there was a lot of hesitation.

On a different note: did Griffen do something to get pulled? I sure thought he played equally as good as Storr for the most part.

Still football season, but i was surprised this was a Friday game. Guess they didn't want a double dip with football in KC tomorrow.

We had 4. They had 11.

Or did you mean specific players?

No--perfect. I didn't remember many. Four is awesome against that defense

The free throw disparity was pretty shocking. Were we really 'fouling' that much? Most of the calls seemed pretty suspect...

Some of it is Self philosophy. If you send too many guys crashing offensive boards you give up easy baskets.

Definitely a give and take.
