and even if the Affordable Care Act really should be taken at face value and really was an act toward affordable care, it was 1. 14 years and 4 administrations ago, and 2. seemed to make healthcare as a whole only cost more.

so either way, maybe it's not wise for Dems to keep tryna hang their hat on it.

It is true that a majority prefer this being accomplished through private insurance. But it is simply fiction to say that "nobody supports universal health care" - as with many things, there is a clear majority in support of it, and the question is how to accomplish it.

And if you're getting your news from the same places as me then it's your critical reading skills that need work, not my ability to listen.

I saw Universal Healthcare and the difference ebetween the two parties stances on it mentioned in dozens upon dozens of campaign ads. It was talked about in the debate. It was talked about in speeches.

The problem is that the average GOP voters has a firehouse of misinformation diluting that message. Period.

Meanwhile, Trump is threatening to confiscate the endowments of universities that do not placate to their indoctrination efforts and have the funds distributed to "white male victims of DEI policies".

But yeah, the problem really is that Dems need to talk nicer to GOP voters...

Dems definitely need to pull from the middle. Not sure those are considered true "republicans".

Parties change over time. I think both parties need to do some adjusting.

this "pull from the middle" strategy by dems kinda lost dems a lotta votes this time around.

as far as true "republicans," they just don't vote dem.

and as far as of-color voters and younger voters and the sorts of voters dems used to otherwise be able to rely on, dems are loosing them.

tho i do agree, dems should focus on getting these otherwise-traditionally Dem voters to vote.

I wonder what sort of appeal they could make? Besides, like, "get off your asses!"

it turns out we were debating less on whether Dems were actually trying to offer the American people universal healthcare, and more simply on the semantics of, "universal."

and FWIW prior to asking you I searched for "universal healthcare" on Kamala's website and campaign media, but couldn't find it.
