And as a result, we will be replacing a 4 star general with a host of Fox & Friends as the upcoming Secretary of Defense. Great job, moron.

I don't disagree.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 7:48 amIt is arrogance and being oblivious that got us in this situation where MAGA voters feel that being informed by BS information is acceptable and worthy of being treated with respect. It is not. We cannot have the level of civil discourse necessary to move forward together as a society if there isn't some sort of agreement on some basic principles of reality.
MAGA no longer accepts reality as fact so they created their own reality full of made up grievances and lies. Until that behavior stops, we will continue to have to deal with the kind of BS that putting a repulsive, racist, rapist felon into the fucking White House brings.
I just think BS information is more than just a partisan thing. And if MAGA no longer accepts reality as fact, then I personally wouldn't run my presidential campaign on reaching across the aisle to try to win over MAGA voters anyway.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

and, please realize, I make a very deliberate effort to not call others names around here.
But when that's so often your own move, do you suggest I abandon that effort, and try for the same?

Refusing to vote for Donald Trump isn't Turing a blind eye to genocide. Donald Trump is about to allow Israel and Russia to commit horrible genocide. Throwing a hissy fit about Palestine nd voting for Trump because Biden isn't handling it exactly how you want is the epitome of cutting of your nose to spite your face.BiggDick wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 7:53 amdid you really not?KUTradition wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 7:52 am did you really just bothsidesism misinformation?

What I and so many other progressive voters were and are trying to say is, the "is about to...commit horrible genocide" is moot, and a hollow talking point, considering genocide is already being committed.
To try and sugarcoat "already being committed" as "Biden isn't handling it exactly how you want" is yet another shameless exercise in partisanship.

Trump draft executive order would set up board to oust generals en masse: Report
The transition team for President-elect Trump is working on an executive order that would speed up the firing of top military brass if signed, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.
The draft executive order would set up a “warrior board” of retired generals and noncommissioned officers given power to review three- and four-star officers and to recommend anyone “lacking in requisite leadership qualities,” according to the document, reviewed by the Journal.
If signed by Trump once he takes office, it could allow the quick removal of generals and admirals and purge the ranks of those the future commander-in-chief takes issue with for whatever reason...

The only way for Biden to do what I truly want is to overthrow the leaders of Israel. At some point, it is out of our hands.BiggDick wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 8:04 amNo one said you should vote for Trump.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 7:59 amRefusing to vote for Donald Trump isn't Turing a blind eye to genocide. Re: trump’s promises
ok?
what is NOT out of our hands, is the ongoing supply of U.S. weapons that the Biden administration has given Israel, with no real regard for red lines or what the leaders of Israel are doing.
Biden could have withheld those weapons or otherwise taken other measures to leverage Israel, and yet...

Re: trump’s promises
"with no real regard for red lines or what the leaders of Israel are doing" just shows how simplistic and uninformed you have chosen to be. It is not based in reality but you're too lazy to do the work to know more.BiggDick wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 8:18 am ok?

If I were you, I'd go search for something like, "Biden Israel red line," and see what the cat drags in.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 8:22 am"with no real regard for red lines or what the leaders of Israel are doing" just shows how simplistic and uninformed you have chosen to be. And/or, if I provide such search results for you, would you be willing to walk back this comment - that the "simplistic," "uninformed," "not based in reality," "too lazy to do the work to know more" here is me?
cuz if you are NOT willing to go for either of those, all these accusations only sound like projection.
Re: trump’s promises
Best of luck continuing to spam every thread. I hope you land some real zingers.
Re: trump’s promises
oh, so you will not or cannot overcome the laziness to do the work to know more and be informed and based in reality?
so it WAS projection!

Re: trump’s promises
No, I am just sick of interacting with you because you're childish and annoying and I have better things to do with my day than to continue this exercise in futility.
Re: trump’s promises
from my point of view, the reason you're sick of interacting with me is cuz I try to get you to actually seek out, or accept the offer of, information you otherwise refuse to accept or even consider - all while ironically accusing me of being the uninformed one!
I don't think that's childish. If you do, sorry. And of course it's annoying. It's annoying cuz this information is such a thread to your views! So sorry for trying to get you to reconsider your views, I guess.
From my point of view, the more childish and annoying behavior is the refusal of information, rather than the offer of info or suggestion to seek info - not to mention, and perhaps more particularly, the "you're a moron" sorts of petty putdowns you continue to shamelessly post.

Re: trump’s promises
and, just trying to actually bring this thread on topic again, and just for perspective:
The refusal and rejection of information that conflicts with one's views, no matter how valid or relevant or objectively factual that information may be, is precisely how one ends up actually buying Trump's promises.
