On Election Day and in the hours following, searches for “how to change my vote” spiked in states that the president-elect won, according to Google analytics. The searches first surged the morning of Election Day before declining the day afterward. Interest in the phrase was not short-lived, though, with numbers climbing again on Monday—just shy of a week out from the election—and continuing to grow throughout the week. The apparent change of heart comes after Trump allies had admitted Project 2025 was the plan all along, and after women and girls became the target of an overtly misogynistic, far-right campaign claiming ownership of their bodies.

The search became so popular that it hit 100, according to Google Trends, which registers searched phrases on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 indicating the peak popularity for a term.

Some of the states that Trump won by the biggest margins, such as Iowa, generated the highest number of state-by-state queries for the term. Those searches were concentrated around the Des Moines-Ames, Cedar Rapids-Waterlook-Iowa City, and Dubuque areas in the Hawkeye State, which already had a large portion of votes for Vice President Kamala Harris, according to Virginia news outlet WAVY. It is not clear, though, whether Trump or Harris supporters were hoping to change their vote...

Good. There is going to be a VERY limited window here for people to speak up and help their elected representatives understand their views, in a manner that could head off the worst of it.

This was a cute meltdown thread. Too soon for me to way in on it? America didn't fail, the democrat did. And that's why America voted overwhelmingly for change

America did not vote "overwhelmingly" for change. Trump won by one seventh the margin that Biden did. He did not win a majority of the popular vote.

Gloat all you want - but gloat accurately.

Why did the democrats fail?

The biden situation. They blatantly openly gaslight us about his mental decline, until it was too late. They "convinced" him no to run again. Seemingly against his own will. They found a "loophole" to bypass a primary and appoint a candidate who has been relatively unpopular throughout her run on the federal level. People didn't know kamala that well. They hid her from interviews and public appearances, and when she actually spoke it was scripted and came off fake with so many contradictory views. People are tired of fake politicians. They'd rather have a brazen one than a fake one.

And this isn't even getting into the root issues of the economy, immigration, and Americans feel the establishment appeared to be pushing us closer to war with and the tampering and funding of foreign conflicts.

All these led to, beleive it or not, the brazen trump seeming like a solution to all these unnecessary problems of a corrupt system. Most of us saw it coming. Turns out that the real echo chamber was little holes in the internet like this poli board

Republicans control everything now. President house senate all of it. I'd say that. He won the popular vote and the electoral vote by a large margin, I'd say that's pretty a pretty overwhelming result.

Accurately? You just made up a 1/7th number

You are now so emboldened to declare math as fake news?

Biden won in 2020 by 7,059,526 votes. He won 51.3% of the popular vote.

At present, Trump is beating Harris by 3,157,498 votes. At present, Trump has won 50.2% of the popular vote.

Let's revisit after the millions of votes remaining to be counted - millions in California, hundreds of thousands in New York, New Jersey and Washington - are in.

I assume that when one number starts with a 1, and the other number starts with a 7, you will understand what "1/7th" is.

No credible state or country would still be counting votes a week later

Riddle me this Batman (anyone on here).
In close to 48 if not 48 states, a higher percentage of voters voted for Trump in 2024 than they did in 2020. Why?

For the same reason as resulted in every developed country voting against incumbents in 2024?

Which has precisely fuck-all to do with the point. No matter how many imaginary boogeymen still haunt you, in glorious victory.

Am I gloating or haunted? Which one is it?

Here's a wild stat about the election. How could harris lose despite having 3 times the funding? Also which of these candidates do you think would be better for the economy?

I dunno how legit "Insurrection Barbie" numbers are, but I did see from other slightly more reliable sources that the Kamala campaign did raise like a billion but is now like millions in debt

And in doing so, by voting for the maybe the worst candidate ever ( Lindbergh in hindsight was up there ) in the history of our country, America failed.

Democrats failed - absolutely - by what I previously mentioned ( and you reiterated ) on how they handled Biden's candidacy. But Kamala Harris, despite being thrust into an unfortunate situation, was overwhelmingly a better candidate than Trump.

Voting to show your middle finger off - cutting nose/spite face - is something a toddler would do.
America the toddlers.

You are clearly both. You are on a UNC message board, the morning after the 2022 title game, complaining about how mean the refs were to KU.

Actually well worse than that.
UNC winning a title isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things.

It's actually if he was on a KU message bored ( which this one is ) if ( gross ) MIZZOU had won the title game over KU as a MIZZOU fan complaining about the officiating.

And, even worse, he had been coming to the KU bored for years, spewing unproven details about how KU was winning illegitimately.

Don't you understand - he has a first amendment right to be that MIZZOU fan.
