doesn’t this prevent them from receiving real-time information on “Presidential” matters?

Important to remember that there is almost nothing Trump can’t fit into his immunity scope. He can issue blanket pardons covering anything, in exchange for anything, for purposes of achieving anything.

Every single supposed legal guardrail is kinda moot when the guy asking you to jump over them can also make you immune from consequences for jumping over them.

And if Trump happens to be making the ask of loyalists to him…there’s not even a huge risk of the information of the jumped guardrail coming to light.

WASHINGTON — A partisan standoff appears to be brewing over whether a House Ethics Committee report will be released before the Senate considers President-elect Donald Trump's nomination of Matt Gaetz for U.S. attorney general.

Gaetz, who resigned Wednesday shortly after his nomination, has been the subject of a three-year investigation by the panel over allegations of sexual misconduct, illicit drug use, accepting “improper gifts” and giving out special favors to individuals with whom he had relationships…

do the pubs not realize that their electorate doesn’t really care about such things (unless there is a D by the name)?

Just think about how ethically bankrupt the Rs have become: in respect of a person seeking the job of Attorney General of the United States, the Rs desire to actively suppress background information relating to the person's possible child rape.

because recess is where it's easiest to find Gaetz?

Gee, who could have seen this coming? Oh, that's right. Everyone with a functioning brain.

Big Oil isn't going to spend a ton of money to increase supply so that they can make LESS money.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets ... r-AA1tXy6s

"President-elect Donald Trump's promise to unleash a big oil boom in the US and lower gas prices is running up against a market reality: The world is already awash in fossil fuels.

ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods told Semafor on Tuesday that while he wanted to maintain US oil production at its current highs, the market was already well supplied.

"I don't think today that production in the US is constrained," he said. "I don't know that there's an opportunity to unleash a lot of production in the near term."

Under Biden the U.S. has already been producing more oil than any nation, ever, to which that article alludes.

Biden, in contrast with his campaign promises, has already approved more permits for drilling on public lands than Trump ever did, as I believe we've previously discussed here.

But, as that article also mentions, dunno how much control a POTUS really has over oil prices.

Rather, as that article also also mentions, I think oil prices are more affected by things like this:

"Energy analysts told Business Insider that big oil companies were more focused on returning money to shareholders"

If only they could have Google "how many drilling permits on federal land go unused every year" and realized that the problem wouldn't be solved by issuing more drilling permits...

Oh, wait, they could.

If only they had been told that Trump has no power to MAKE Big Oil increase production.

Oh, wait. They were.

If only they realized that a complex problem isn't going to solved by a simple slogan like "Drill Baby Drill".

Oh, wait. They don't care.

People don't call them morons for being conservatives or because Dems are Elitists. People call them morons for consistently falling for moronic cons.

The only control of oil prices that citizens have is to need and use less of it.

I dunno if twocoach will see this, but I'd be curious to hear his ideas on how citizens could "need and use less of it," with "it" presumably being oil specifically, and/or energy generally.
