Errrr...I very much do.
He still has to be able to shoot the 3 in moments.
He has the ball too much not to.
^^^^

the 3-pointer has become too important to the modern game to NOT expect it of a big minutes player, and/or at least a big minutes perimeter player in particular.

Harris' points per 40 minutes is the highest of his career this season. He is just playing almost 8 mpg less this year so far. So you're wrong about his scoring production statistically decreasing and wrong that he's gonna play a ton of minutes.

Harris is doing fine this year, solid but unspectacular. I don't care if he never shoots another 3 in his life.
hopefully this isn't annoying to quote you even tho you apparently have me on ignore, but since you quoted me and since this is otherwise good hoops discussion, please allow me to quote back with more good hoops discussion.

Again, small sample size so far this year, but is a good point about Harris's numbers. I'd rather have him play 8 fewer minutes a game and only average single digits, than score double digits but play like 35+ again.

but yea, per the previous pdub quote, Harris absolutely needs to shoot 3s

Elliot Cadeau isn't a good 3pt shooter. He's a stud. I can go through almost every single top 25 team and pick out a perimeter player who isn't a good 3pt shooter. And again, we're talking about DH who has a multiple year sample size to show he is a 38% 3pt shooter.

You don't need volume scoring at every single position.

You aren't doing a fantasy draft.

And JFC, twocoach was being tongue in cheek. He doesn't want DH to never shoot another 3. My god.

We need the other guards starting with Harris to be able to hit the 3 tho.
Whether Zeke, Storr or Rylan.

I only want him to shoot a three if he is WIDE open or there is less than about 8 seconds left on the shot clock. Otherwise, he should just get someone else a good look.

Harris is fine for what he needs to do. We have enough good scoring options out there that his lack of being a great scorer isn't a problem. If the option for this year's team was either Harris or a PG who was a better scorer but a worse defender, I'd choose Harris. Zeke, Griffen and Storr can handle the scoring load outside of the bigs.

Storr hasn't been a bit of a disappointment so far. Of the 3 big time transfers he was supposed to be the best iirc. Zeke clear #1 so far. I think Rylan and Storr are neck and neck in my eyes. Griffen starts though (and averages more minutes), so far. So it appears maybe he's ahead in Self's eyes.

think we kinda knew coming into the season that Storr wasn't quite up to speed with Self and the system yet

Very pleasantly surprised with Zeke, especially considering our history otherwise with mid-major scoring guards. Didn't expect Zeke to have such polished ball skills either.

Harris is a solid shooter. He doesn't shoot threes early in the shot clock unless insanely wide open because he tries to get the team a better shot. Defenses aren't playing off him, so the threat of him shooting still prevents the middle from getting clogged. I'd like to see him shoot a little more, but not, like, a lot more.

So far he's finishing twos better and getting to the line, that's the improvement we needed. And he's helping more on the glass (3.8 per 40, vs 2.2 last year), which we needed someone to do.

It's weird, he's overrated nationally yet underrated by a chunk of the Kansas fanbase.

All his Michigan State 3's he took I liked and I think he was right for shooting them.

I was very much hoping 1 of them went in at the time bc I think he only had 2 points at half and my over wasn't looking so good.

I also like that Zeke isn't just a catch and shoot 3pt guy. He's good at creating space and shooting off the dribble, which is EXACTLY what we need on this roster. Storr may turn into it (a guy who can create his own shot within the offense), but Griffen is more of a catch and shoot guy. You can tell Storr was allowed to dribble the heck out of the ball at Wisconsin, now he's got to adjust to playing with other good players as a 2nd or 3rd option, which is hard to do for guys who have been stars their entire life.

This roster compliments each other very well offensively.

Defensively we've got some work to do.

yes....but did you watch thr UK Fuke game?

Our defense needs to improved, but it at least exists somewhat as a scheme beyond whats provided with just pure athleticism.

How quickly you forget DMac on these boreds.
Lol. Yeah definitely his competition. Idk. Dajuan might take it.

I personally was very critical of dajuan in his early years, but have grown to appreciate him. Part of it is dajuans continued growth, part of it is me accepting that dajuans strengths far outweigh his limitations

Last years team was not the same once McCullar got injured. He stays healthy and things look different for last years team. Even with their obvious deficiencies. He missed 8 games and we looked awful in almost all of them.

Dajuan being 1st in games played and 2nd in assist to turnover ratio is a crazy impressive combination

Especially because assist to turnover ratio isn't a longevity stat.

Core 9 actually seems pretty clear.

Dajuan
Zeke
Griffen
KJ
Hunter

Storr
Bidunga
Coit and moore fight it out for the reserve guard minutes. Maybe there is room for them both to play some, different skillsets
