I only like food because it's required.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

yea, I know, I'm weird.

I'm not saying food doesn't taste delicious. I just dont savor it like some people.

I love food.

Call me a "foodie," but I'm not really big on that term.

I think I am far more impressed by soul food and street food and well-executed tacos and enchiladas type food, than I am by going and dropping like $300 a mouth just cuz at some steakhouse or Michelin joint.

is there anything you, yourself cook?

or, does your wife do most of the cooking?

maybe it’s unsurprising, but at least for me there’s much more enjoyment when it’s something made vs bought…particularly with baked or more complex things

honestly I do a lot do the cooking but it's generally just whatever we have, trying to throw something together in the moments between school/sports and bed

when I smoke meat...I love it and it's delicious. But I still generally don't eat tons of it, and it takes soo much time.

yeah, it’s tough taking the time when there’s so much else going on
