We would have to win out to even entertain such a stupid things as to keep him. He is terrible at his job. But we'll still have Daniels next season. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is yet to be seen.
Do we really? I thought this was his ninth Senior year, or thereabouts.

Yep, at KU for 5 years and is a Junior.
In 2022 he was a Second Team Academic All-American.
His current KU Football bio states he "plans" to major in computer engineering.
Does he walk down the hill in 2026?

As far as Claire Boucher (Grimes), can anyone explain why Daniels regressed this season?
I can blame it on his back, I can blame it on his OL, I can blame it on his playing against good defenses, can I blame it on his OC?
I don't follow recruiting and don't know who Sir Lancelot will bring in via portal.
Grimes loses a lot of shiny toys after this season. Doesn't give me much confidence in his success next season.

I think there was an adjustment period for the OC and for JD coming back from injury.

It was pretty apparent that they didn’t get Daniels sufficient game-speed reps in the preseason. He was overwhelmed by the speed of the game early on. That’s on Grimey.

It also seemed like Grimey’s scheme lacked the trickeration and unpredictability of Coach K’s system. Teams knew what to expect and Daniels was panicking and not moving through his progressions, hence the interceptions and fumbles.

I think the OC has been much better the last handful of games. The play calling got better.

Or maybe JD just got better and it made the plays look better?

To play the role of Gutter (devil's advocate), Grimes could only get better as the season progressed - or is it more of a case of him having less hands on and others taking more control of the offense?

Fair point.
But if that’s the case, Lance knows, and should act accordingly.

KU v CU this Sat, is this KU's super bowl? Living in Colorado, all the radio talking heads are talking about is CU playing for the Big12 champ game, playoff seed, etc. Total (almost) overlooking KU. I smell an upset. Only one afternoon show here giving KU a fighter's chance discussing the close losses, late season improvement, etc.

ESPN has CU -3, 59.5 O/U. The Phog agrees:

Hummer (Colorado -2.5) — Kansas already took down one Big 12 title game contender in BYU, can it do it again this week against Colorado? These are two of the best offenses in college football, especially when the Jayhawks avoid turnovers. You need elite secondary play to slow Colorado's offense, which is not exactly something the Jayhawks feature at 79th nationally in opposing passer rating. At this point, I'm not betting against the Buffaloes. They score on everyone and have gotten much, much better defensively. … Colorado 31, Kansas 28.

Crawford (Colorado -2.5) — The Jayhawks are playing well right now and believe it or not, Kansas can still get to bowl eligibility if it wins out. Colorado's a different animal, however. Shedeur Sanders is playing at an elite level, but Travis Hunter is playing at a Heisman level as the overwhelming frontrunner. Another win for the Buffaloes puts them one step closer to a Big 12 title berth and possible playoff spot. ... Colorado 38, Kansas 30

Love/hate CU and/or Prime, gotta give them some props for playing the NIL/portal/self promotion game well. KU plays that game as well, but in a much more low key business-like approach. My atta-boys go to the KU style.

It should be one hell of a game ...

would it be a bigger win than BYU?

i know rankings would say no, but it kinda feels like it would be bigger
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

No one was giving BUY any creds despite their ranking.
CU has one of the most divisive/vocal college coaches in the US with 2 dudes who may go top 3 in the NFL draft.
It'll get more publicity if KU wins.
