let me know when those start
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

gaetz, hegseth, mcmahon, and trump all have “sex” scandals associated with them (and you could even include rfk)
trump is bad enough, but he’s trying to surround himself with unqualified, unethical, and immoral people
i’ll mark you down as being ok with that

Re: trump’s promises
Dr. Oz supports efforts to privatize Medicare and has said that he would have voted against the Affordable Care Act (ACA). His proposals threaten to raise costs and put health care for millions at risk. Instead of nominating someone with experience, Trump chose a dishonest, celebrity medical professional who is most known for promoting scams. The American Medical Association’s Journal of Ethics has called him “a dangerous rogue unfit for the office of America’s doctor.” Between the nominations of Dr. Oz and RFK Jr., it is clear Donald Trump is building a cabinet that mirrors himself: incompetent, inexperienced, and unqualified.

I don't think "sex scandals" even does it justice.KUTradition wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 7:19 amwut?hartjack8 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 1:36 amOK ....so the thing is this is so slanted its not even real,KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 7:48 am i don't recall trump promising to fill his cabinet with folks embroiled in sex abuse scandals

I would argue that marital infidelity is a black mark, but not automatically disqualifying. (Lying about it, however, different story, for reasons broad and narrow.)
I would argue that unwanted/forcible/exploitative sexual contact is automatically disqualifying.
And - claims of TDS incoming! - sex abuse is fundamentally about dominance with impunity. I think it very much appeals to Trump to essentially show his OWN dominance over institutions by elevating, rather than shunning, people who view others' bodies the way he does.

It is astonishing to think how much of our present moment is traceable back to Democrats not understanding this pin-the-tail-on-the-dumbass game at the time it was played with Scalia's seat.KUTradition wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 10:35 amyou’ve played this game beforejfish26 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 10:22 am"November 22, 2024" - makes it Biden's fault, yeah?KUTradition wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 10:13 am attention, Walmart shoppers:

Purchases to be made before the end of this year....all new appliances for a residential kitchen, a 65" smart TV, a corded 12" sliding miter saw, two new laptops. About $9K.
I have a feeling this last quarter of 2024 is going to be good for retailers. It will be interesting to compare Q4 2024 with Q4 2025.

Re: trump’s promises
do you think old uncles inflation will still be stinging us a year from now. yikes i hope not.
Re: trump’s promises
What does Biden have to do with what Walmart thinks about the tariffs that Trump plans to impose?
Re: trump’s promises
No, I think the impact from Trump's tariffs will be punching us between the eyes and we'll miss the annoying sting of being one of the lowest levels of inflation on the planet.
