Uncle Joe
Re: Uncle Joe
I dunno.
You think?
Considering he's been poked fun at pretty much since he became the nominee, I dunno if Vance has the appeal.
Besides, 4 years is a long ass time. I mean, this time 4 years ago, Trump was calling to have his veep hanged.

Re: Uncle Joe
Or if not Vance, whomever else will essentially be a pass-through for whichever among Trump/Musk/Putin is in control as of the midterms.
The point is (and you and I are agreeing) - the Rs have the opposite of a blank slate. They let their party get hijacked, and now they're riding the ride.

Why is this entertaining for you?

I appreciate the perspectives.

Re: Uncle Joe
You already know the answer to the question you asked
Re: Uncle Joe
Not sure about that nonsensical part but I realize that's just kinda how it goes around here any more.
The big question, then, seems to be what Dems will do with this blank slate opportunity. They have four years to curate some candidate to defeat what's apparently gonna be a predictable opponent in some Trump straw man fielded by the GOP. Stay tuned!
Re: Uncle Joe
If you want to call up "down" and black "white," you're going to get called out for being nonsensical. The reason that's "how it goes around here any more" is that you do this sort of thing quite often.BiggDick wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 12:28 pmNot sure about that nonsensical part but I realize that's just kinda how it goes around here any more.

It is utterly nonsensical to say that a party that has been fully captured by a cult has anything like a blank slate.
As to what the Dems do - I don't think that can or even should come into focus until at least next summer. The strategy is really dependent on what exactly Trump II is.

Re: Uncle Joe
Trump Season 2 is going to be REALLY hard on the folks that put him back in.
We will see in the next 2 years if they figure that out.

the dims like to zig as the majority zags. so they will no doubt put together a ticket that most no one can relate to.
Re: Uncle Joe
Agreed. They’ll find another ticket that will be widely disliked enough to unite the majority of voters. Then they’ll cry racism/sexism/misogyny/stupidity/unfairness all over again.

I think you missed the part I said about how pubs could lean on the term limits thing as a way of showing Trump the door…again, if they want to. (And have the backbone to, which, so far, they don’t)jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 12:38 pmIf you want to call up "down" and black "white," you're going to get called out for being nonsensical. Either way, Trump-infected GOP should could would be an opportunity of sorts for Dems.
However, we've seen Dems fumble that opportunity many times already to have much faith.

You and I must mean very different things by "blank slate."BiggDick wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 12:47 pmI think you missed the part I said about how pubs could lean on the term limits thing as a way of showing Trump the door…again, if they want to. Re: Uncle Joe
The Dems have about three years to curate a half dozen or so decent candidates.BiggDick wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 12:28 pmNot sure about that nonsensical part but I realize that's just kinda how it goes around here any more.

Re: Uncle Joe
yea!
*fingers crossed*
Just don't have faith that they will tho.
I mean, who's the up-and-coming stars in the Democratic Party?
Buttigeg?
AOC?
Some governor like Whitmer or Newsom?
Another helping of Kamala?
Bueller?
Anyone? Anyone?

Re: Uncle Joe
I don't think this is a situation where you start with what you thought was the CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER screen.
That's why I think you need to wait and see what exactly Trump II looks like. Because you have to run against whatever it is, which is not yet known.
