Re: Boxing
That'd probably have resulted in him forfeiting a giant portion of his prize purse. Not sure it'd have been all that funny to repeat one of the most embarrassing moments of his career.

Re: Boxing
Jake Paul is not really very good at boxing.
this is pretty much my take away
that, and the women showed everyone how to brawl…that shit was crazy

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Boxing
so supposedly if Tyson KO'd Paul he didn't get paid.....if Tyson won by decision....he didn't get paid.

Re: Boxing
From what I've read, those are just rumors. This was a sanctioned fight, and other than maybe a handful of states which banned betting on it, was a fight you could wager on. So having agreements like that may have been illegal not to disclose, I'd have to think. (For their to be language like that in the contract over compensation)
Tyson wasn't going to be able to knock any half trained boxer out after the first 4 or 5 minutes, because he was gassed. His balance was awful. His timing was off. He's still extremely powerful, especially training, but without his legs under him, in the ring it's hard to land any meaningful power shots.
Roy Jones Jr kept saying "i don't like how his legs look" and how he didn't like his stance and foot movement (or lack thereof).
....now, Tyson was always friendly with both Paul brothers before this. So it's entirely possible they had an understanding of how the fight was supposed to go. Paul even said after the fight he stopped hitting him as much as he could because he didn't want to hurt him.

perhaps, but we live in a world where rules and disclosures don't matter. Only money does.DeletedUser wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2024 4:30 pmFrom what I've read, those are just rumors. Tyson was asked after the fight by a child reporter about how this could affect his legacy:pdub wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 9:53 am He blew through his money and filed bankruptcy early in his career so all that money he made when he was at the top of the world is gone.
If i'm 28 years old in my prime I'm absolutely not taking a fall in a fight. My legacy means more than money.
If i'm 60 years old and I could make 20 million dollars to take a fall in a pretend fight, i'd likely do it.
It's not doing anything to my legacy. I'm 60.

Julio Cesar Chavez (former WBC middleweight champ) in talks about a matchup with paul

Re: Boxing
I keep seeing this highlight over and over. And while I wish it showed it in real time, I also don't care enough to watch any longer replays to try and find it.
But, boy it sure does look like Tyson pumped the brakes on what was otherwise gonna be a wide open right hook to the face.

If that isn't altered, it sure as hell looks 100% like Tyson pulled the punch.BiggDick wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 5:29 pmI keep seeing this highlight over and over. And while I wish it showed it in real time, I also don't care enough to watch any longer replays to try and find it.

I've seen several videos of times during the match where it sure as hell looks like Tyson could unleash but doesn't follow thru with any power.Shirley wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 5:31 pmIf that isn't altered, it sure as hell looks 100% like Tyson pulled the punch.BiggDick wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 5:29 pmI keep seeing this highlight over and over. Tyson was hurt, and his legs aren't what they used to be....but the thing he still has is power. Loads of it. It was a sham job. fake as fuck.

i thought i was reading something about paul needing to be ranked top 15 in a weight class before he’d get any “real” fightShirley wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 5:31 pmWhat is this, the hasbeen of the month club?KUTradition wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 5:25 pm Julio Cesar Chavez (former WBC middleweight champ) in talks about a matchup with paul
