Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Put them on the screens. Put them on the scorers table scrolling advertising board. Put them in the concession area. And bathrooms. And wherever else.

....but not on the court.
Then your issue is with KU Athletics, which is fine.

I onky don't like it because I don't like to be reminded of work while at a KU game. Other than that, I never notice whatever stuff is on the floor at all.

All the blue blood fanbases have a good sized chunk of them. Fans love something to brag on and the "purity" of their program is a big one. "KU/UK/Duke/Carolina would never do that, it's beneath us" is a big thing. Especially since the rise of fans bagging on other fanbases on social media.

I remember when we just had to worry about the size of the Jayhawk.

The "NBA Cup" courts that they've done this year are awful. Thankfully, I think those go away soon.

F the NCAA is just a general thread where complaints about the shittiness of what CBB has become can go.

Or they change something about a uniform (last night's were spectacular by the way). Or the new seating, or the new video boards, or the new LED lighting.

There's always some change that can be complained about and all changes get complained about. So it goes.

I do not envy the poor bastard who has to make the decision to move on from AFH. Hopefully it doesn't happen until well after I am gone but it will happen some day.

unless mother nature wrecks it with a tornado, i don’t see the Fieldhouse going anywhere

i’m obviously biased, but i think some gripes have more legitimacy than others…changes that distract from the viewing experience, for example

The jump from the image of the state of Kansas to a Jayhawk ( it's too big ) is vastly different ( to me ) than peppering your field house, which has been written by people who are passionate about the sport ( silly performance artists if you ask me ) as the best in college ( lolz ) basketball and almost a religious experience, with logos so that you can make even more money.

The 800 ultrabright LED scoreboards all around the arena flashing ever changing ads through out the game are far more of a negative experience for me when attending games at AFH than 2 small static, dark colored logos on the floor surface. I doubt they would even be noticeable in person unless you looked for them.

i agree with this (but i’m still against adverts on the court itself)

OK, well, I think they are pretty damn noticeable.

If given the choice in a box, I would prefer "no ads on the floor" to "ads on the floor".

Were I a donor (which I am not), I would prefer administrative bloat to be on the chopping block before squeezing juice out of things like this.

we've gone from a Wiscy Rebellion to "ads aren't bad, you don't even notice them"

we really are an easily manipulated species
