Really? You aren't shooting someone who isn't breaking in to your home?
Yet, you brought up Laken Riley and her family.
Hmmmm.
So help me to understand, if God forbid you see someone raping your child, you wouldn't shoot them?
Yeah, I get that you are trying to convey that YOU aren't going to hunt down "illegals" at the border (Hooray!) but you did it in a lousy manner.
I have no doubt you are busy working and enjoying life - and I am sincerely happy for you.
Until..... ?
If other people go out "patrolling" of course it's completely up to them.
If you seriously don't know why anyone would "waste their time like that" then you are either not giving it much thought - or ignorant.
I'll help you.
We have people in this country who would happily "waste their time like that" hunting themselves some Mexercans, or some whatever else is not "white" to them, and shoot them, and take pride and pleasure in it. Because they are sick fucking assholes!
We have and abundance of people in this country who would consider those "hunters" to be Patriots and fine Americans and fully support them and their actions.
I'm really not on any horse. I'm on a YOU said, "Of course, there’s also an easy remedy for illegals who don’t want shot: GTFO".
Yes, I have a problem with that, and I have extensively/excessively let it be known.
Sorry, I would have no problem being on the same side with Trad and Jeeper "should an attack of rube/mouthbreather/White nationalist violence break out".
I sure as shit would hope I would be showing/having "oUtRAgE" if it were to happen.
You know, while people (such as yourself?) would be happy and celebrating it.
I believe there are a whole lot of Americans who would like to see that happen.
As far as in Chicago, I don't expect to be alive a whole lot longer but I wouldn't be at all shocked if while I am still alive, I see a substantial "war" in Chicago, unless something drastic changes.
People choose to act out in ignorant ways and they know they are succeeding in their purpose. They are given the power and attention that they are seeking. Makes them feel they are important. Problem for them and the rest of the citizens of Chicago, at what point do the rest of the citizens of Chicago react and respond? That inevitably (?) happens, the problem won't go away. It will get worse. Much worse. To the point of where I will no longer be able to live where I live and work where I work - unless the National Guard becomes involved? If/when that were to happen. Does one side declare victory and all is well? Probably not. Maybe hell no?
I have been saying this for many years (on the KU boards and off the KU boards), I believe our country's next "major" Civil War is coming closer and closer to happening. I hope I'm wrong. I don't think I am.

You should see/hear/read me when I'm in a bad mood.
Bottom line, yes, I suppose I probably get in "a mood" when I think about someone getting shot and killed who has done nothing worse than step over a line that divides two countries.
Am I wrong to feel that should be labeled as "hate crime"?
Or to you is is a case of American Patriotism to kill those fuckers for wanting a better life for themselves and their families? My guess is it's somewhere in-between to you.
Last night I was with a woman who "stepped over a line that divides two countries". A great very kind woman who makes a living being a care giver.
So in 2025 America, who gets to decide who can and can't play the role of "vigilante" and be the ultimate decider if people like her are a bad person or a good person as they are crossing the border - and if they should be shot or not be shot?
I say let's have some asshole named Hank who lives near Del Rio Texas, and gets off on putting bullets in humans, and is beloved by his fellow townsfolk because he keeps them Mexercans out of their town, and everyone at a local bar called Whitey's gets a free round of shots after he kills him a Mexercan, be that guy!

2.) I do, however, understand the frustration of people living in border regions, and why they might feel inclined to do so.
3.) It’s not an imaginary line. Without borders, there is no country. Without a country, there is no security. Without security, there is no quality of life.
4.) It is time to get serious about the illegal problem. If they want a better quality of life, they can apply to come in legally.

I'm glad it seems you are not in favor of killing people when the punishment (of being killed) doesn't fit the crime.
2. I also understand the frustration of people living in border regions. Heck, I have had some "frustration" living in Chicago due to "migrants" (and my guess is "illegals" as well). Probably different frustration/s but still frustration/s.
Still doesn't make me feel people should be "inclined" to shoot someone because they are simply frustrated- unless it becomes a situation of kill or be killed.
3. I don't pretend it's an imaginary line. I don't know how to respond to the rest of your #3 other than to say I agree that when you have "bad guys" committing crimes, there is a need for "security".
4. I agree. If it is/was as simple as that.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

The Mexican president said there are no more caravans coming through. And Trump agreed. Everything is okay suddenly. It is almost like it was hyperbole meant to engender rage amongst those who do not understand. Gaslighting on why the caravans are gone is next on Fox.
