Re: NCAA 2024/2025
I'd have to look at other people's records...
KU has wins over Kenpom #4 Duke and #16 UNC. Mich State at #36.
Auburn has Houston #5, Iowa State#6, and UNC...and Memphis #31

Re: NCAA 2024/2025
Kenpom is still a hot mess. They have Gonzaga at #3 despite them getting beat by unranked West Virginia. Their only ranked win was an ass whipping of kenpom's 23rd ranked team in Baylor in the first game of the year. Oregon has wins over ranked Texas A&M and Alabama, 27th and 10th on Kenpom, with no losses and is 19th on Kenpom.
Re: NCAA 2024/2025
Kenpom doesn't factor in score differential as much as it does efficiency per possession weighted against a team's prior efficiency per possession. Of course, that goes hand in hand with score differential.
Yes, it's still early, but the Zags put a hurt on Baylor and Indiana and beat a good San Diego State team by double digits.
We've had tight games vs UNC, Duke and even Michigan State.
He also factors in preseason rankings for about the first month of college basketball so we may still be in there - and I think we were 7th on that.

Re: NCAA 2024/2025
I will start to care about Kenpom in February or so. Seems pretty meaningless until then.
Re: NCAA 2024/2025
I'd say about 15 games in is where you have a good enough amount of data to get an idea of a team - so for me, it's more early January - but yes, right now I think it's still using preseason rankings as a way to prevent major fluctuations.

Just generally you seem to not know when to apply statistics or facts or numbers.
So I don't think you should start now.

Does anyone else here see Misery’s head coach and picture him at a mall kiosk?
“Hey man, let me ask you a few questions about your current cell phone plan!”

I wasn't to see the wheels fall all the way off in Storrs and have UConn miss the tourney entirely.pdub wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 10:51 am While we're at it, here's Joey Buckets!
