I miss Captain Kirk. Stone cold competitor, didn’t feel the need to make “down to my knees” gestures every time he hit a basket, and played both ends of the floor relentlessly. Relic of a bygone era.

I used to run into Kirk Hinrich at swim meets back when my oldest daughter swam. Hinrich's daughter was a swimmer and the club they were at in Sioux Falls, South Dakota used to come down to a few meets here in Omaha. We chatted about KU hoops a few times, it was super fun!
