It read to me that the predictable part was that Trump voters who have been convinced that everything is awful and all systems must be destroyed are predictably in the "meh, he's a rich guy who must be a crook, this is what happens" camp.BiggDick wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 10:51 am wait so a controversial healthcare CEO guy getting murdered is a consequence of government having been been rendered nonfunctional, and a predictable consequence at that?
once again, just genuinely not sure where you're going with this one. Kind of want to ask, but also kind of don't.

The title of the thread thing is a distraction.BiggDick wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 11:07 am ok?
I honestly wasn't trying to be on the other side of the argument. That's not my intent, so much as it may be your own reactive instinct.
Cuz I also honestly am just not sure how the Evil Rich People thread got all the way from rendering the government nonfunctional, to blaming the government for being nonfunctional, to a nonfunctional government's predictable consequences being a healthcare CEO getting murdered.
That just kind of feels all over the place, or something.
glad you're on my side tho, apparently?
The point is that no other advanced nation on earth has created the condition set that resulted in this murder.
And among the essential elements of that condition set are things that wouldn't exist (or wouldn't pose as high risk) if our policies were more aligned with popular positions.

Re: Evil Rich People
good post fish!
Sometimes it might take a little coaxing, but you do make good points.
I dunno how legit "Value Penguin by Lending Tree" is as a source, but holy shit, this data.
Like 1 in every 3 claims denied?!

Re: Evil Rich People
yea.
for all we know, this has little if anything to do with the CEO's psychopathic business decisions, and could be just something like owing money to the wrong doods in the sports betting thread or sumptin.
Re: Evil Rich People
I guess my point is that the CEO's decisions (1) probably aren't "psychopathic" in and of themselves; I think they're probably just rational given the incentive structure in play, (2) probably have barely-more-than-fuck-all to do with the shooter's grievances with the company and (3) probably aren't really the issue here at all.BiggDick wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 12:01 pmyea.

Re: Evil Rich People
no. it was some far-left anti everything militia group. antifa was just the first that came to mind.
it could have been occupy wallstreet. or maybe blm.

Re: Evil Rich People
yea, probably.
but "it's probably not psychopathic it's probably just rational" is like SUCH an indictment of the structure, and such a good argument that structure should be burned to the ground.

Daisy was distraught and thought driving the Rolls would be a nice mood shifter. She had no idea that the woman she ran over recognized the car because she was her husband's--Tom Buchanan's-- mistress. They have closed down the epic mansion where the CEO lived. All I know is what Wolfsen told me: honor your friends in their lifetime.

Watch it be some disgruntled shareholder who thought the CEO wasn’t denying claims enough.

There is not yet, to my knowledge, a shred of evidence that the shooter was politically motivated.
And the assumption that the murder of a rich white guy is necessarily "politically motivated" is exactly what you say.
Re: Evil Rich People
that sounds just like every far-left call to arms. that we have ever heard.
but if the algorithm wants to pretend otherwise. if it makes you feel better.
