If we are losing 30+ seniors plus several players in the portal then a class of just 15 signees means that KU better sign a shit ton of players out of the portal.

Yeah the HS players are coming but no way any of them are going to start. So we going to need a ton of portal players. To me the portal works when you filling a couple of key players in but we need way way to much for it to work.

KU's DJ Warner announces intention to transfer. We are losing the player who became the highest-rated signee in KU history. He was freshman this year.

I admit my ignorance - and/or common sense?
If we aren't matching offers, why would any kid who can and will play somewhere else - that they would prefer to be - choose to stay?

Yeah that is not what is going on. Jordan Peterson who was our co-DC left last year to go to Texas AM. He was by far our best recruiter. He recruited DJ.

So this just seems to be. Yeah I need to get the fuck out of Dodge. LOL

Look you have to understand what we have. Our HC is the Division Three Wizard, which is only going to get you so far. In the beginning The Wizard had Les's recruits and added to that the explosion of the transfer portal to bring in a few players. The Wizard brought his coaches with him from the Division Three. Now the OC AK was actually really good. The DC Borland is terrible. However he always has been. So here is the rub....what to do?? The Wizard is totally good with Borland. Always has been always will be. Borland's contract is up so he could just go off to sit on a couch somewhere but the move was to let him walk last year and promote Peterson. Didn't Happen because the Wizard likes Borland. The thing is whatever the Wizard decides really will not matter. We had the players this year on defense like no other year. We not going to have that next year. The Wizard's hiring of Grimes should be your indicator of the future. Do you really think the Wizard is going to hire a stellar DC? However who the Fuck could be worse than Borland.

I think that's what makes me the angriest. We had the players to make KUFB history this year, with a very small window to capitalize. The OC and DC blew it. Next year will be a standard KUFB year because the cupboard is bare, yet they'll be begging everyone to come out and fill the new stadium. Meanwhile, the slackasses responsible for dropping the ball will apparently continue to collect their ridiculously high salaries. It's just wrong.

This is an example of the downside of the transfer portal. Kids who are disappointed that they don’t get immediate playing time think they will get picked up by a big time program, get more playing time, and get paid, but, for most, they’ll just be on the sidelines in a different geographic location.

Yeah that is not what is happening. You now have two running backs that backed up Neal for two years and would be in line for a ton of playing time leaving the program.

What you saw Saturday was one school being 100% out coached on both sides of the ball.

The beat down Baylor put on Grimes was epic which put the defense in such a bad spot.

Wisconsin apparently targeting grimes

(per 247)
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I wish we could bring in Mangino to get some two position players developed. Flanker QBs, two way WR/DBs. Innovate.

Ha man I was so excited about Grimes!!!!!!!!!!HELL YEA!!

So Grimes is probably going to be replaced in house with Coach Z or Coach Lubick.

There is some chatter Borland is out and Peterson is in which is what should have happened ly.

The tragedy is both these moves where there for the WIZARD last year he just dropped the ball.

This all needs to be figured out by Monday.

The portal takes and gives.

Last year one of the biggest loses in the portal was DT Keys who went to Auburn. He in the portal and seems he coming back. Now on the D the DT room is good so we for sure done there.

Still waiting on Foster. If he goes NFL with the loss of Brown we do not have the players on the roster so we be in the portal there.
