you conveniently only remember final four Remy.

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
Who did what he did with us having two scorers (Och and Jalen) who were worlds better than their equivalents on this team.
Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
and who didn't have to worry about anything other than coming in for a few minutes and getting shots up....becauseeeee...he had.......Dajuan to do everything that it takes to run a team.

(Of Harris and Remy, I mean.)
Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
no, not really.
I remember him as an all-conference talent in the Pac 12, one of the top transfers in the portal, and preseason POY in the Big 12.
I remember him a terrific college talent, but out hurt for a bulk of his season with us, and also remember him in coach's dog house. I think he may be one of the best examples of Self expecting to break a player down to build a player back up, when Remy was the kind of player who expected to just come in and cook.
(and thank the lord Self finally let him cook!)
Yeah, he was good in the final four, it was more than jus that. Without him, we'd prob be looking at a first-weekend exit for 5 straight tournaments.
For real, remember when we started flat against Creighton, and Remy checked in, and McD thought he could guard him the same way they guarded Dajuan, and Remy made them pay?

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
those highly compensated portal dudes combining for next to nothing yesterday. they need to start earning their paycheck. or out the door they go.
out with the old in with the new.
they should have like a january quick portal. where we can trade and swap the overpaidunderachievers.

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
Dajuan was not very good at all that season. He was a role player, who did alright at being an efficient bare minimum pass first pg. All that was asked of dajuan was to pass the ball, not turn it over, and play defense. Dajuan was on the floor with 3 nba wings and a senior McDonald's all American center. No chance we have the post season success if we didn't have a guy like Remy to spell dajuan

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
Remy is a good example of bills coaching style not always working with transfers tho. Remy was supposed to be the top guy in the portal, and his play style clashed with self stubbornness all season, then he missed time with injury. Because of that he was relegated to the bench, his role changed to being a 6th man and spark off the bench, and it worked out last minute in the postseason

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
Mccullar worked because he was basically a glorified role player when he got here. Mccullar was a perfect fit because he pride himself on defense and self didn't have to yank him every 2 minutes for defenses lapsesDeletedUser wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 10:41 amThe thing is, he's also had success with transfers.randylahey wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 9:52 am Dajuan KJ and hunter have basically an unlimited leash. They have plenty of flaws. But they play comfortable and confident because they don't worry about bill yanking them
Bill needs to adjust some. He needs to start instilling confidence in his transfers. Instead of always breaking them down. That just isnt going to translate to the NIL/transfer portal era. If we are going to recruit all these upperclassman 1 and 2 year rentals, bill needs to figure out how to implement and utilize them in the limited time we have them
KM did great. Hunter has done fine. Neither regressed at KU.
Some of these guys just can't cut it against the higher competition. Remy, Storr, Yesufu. These guys aren't ending up as NBA contributors. They're ending up being average or slightly better college players.
Still time for Storr, I'm not giving up. But he doesn't look like a future NBA player to me. He's small. Not super fast or athletic. And not a great shooter.
I wouldn't call hunter a success at this point. The hunter era has been quite frustrating so far. But he's a 7 foot giant with soft touch who self can run offense through, so he's plays

that stretch coincides with, LIKE I SAID, out hurt for a bulk of his season with us, and also remember him in coach's dog house.
But you guys knew that.
if you wanna argue stats, let's consider that even despite that stretch TDub so kindly looked up for us, Remy still averaged over 3ppg more than Dajuan, averaging 8 fewer minutes. He also scored almost as many total season points as Dajuan, but in almost half as many minutes.
But you guys knew that too.
well...either you DID know that and you're just being stupidly annoying, or you really did NOT know that and you're just being annoyingly stupid.
Carry on!
