Is Remy's jersey eligible for retirement?

Best ever!

Who did what he did with us having two scorers (Och and Jalen) who were worlds better than their equivalents on this team.
and who didn't have to worry about anything other than coming in for a few minutes and getting shots up....becauseeeee...he had.......Dajuan to do everything that it takes to run a team.
Dajuan was not very good at all that season. He was a role player, who did alright at being an efficient bare minimum pass first pg. All that was asked of dajuan was to pass the ball, not turn it over, and play defense. Dajuan was on the floor with 3 nba wings and a senior McDonald's all American center. No chance we have the post season success if we didn't have a guy like Remy to spell dajuan
Dajuan started at the most important position in 39 of 40 games and averaged 29 mpg

role player....

Do you know what a role player is? Most teams have at least a starter or 2 who are role players. Dajuan averaged 5 pts a game. Role player

technically all players are role players. Do you know what a point guard is?

Its a pretty important role.

If Dajuan didn't lead our team in assists OR wasn't on the All B12 1st team defense that season then i'd agree, he was a role player.

But he both led our team in assists and was on the All B12 1st team defense that season.

247:

Bill Self has rolled out four different starting lineups through the first nine games of the 2024-25 season. Dajuan Harris, KJ Adams, and Hunter Dickinson have been the constants in each starting lineup. Zeke Mayo is close behind the trio. Self said early in the season he couldn't get Mayo to shoot as much as he would like, so David Coit Jr. started alongside Rylan Griffen against Howard and UNC. Mayo has started in seven straight games, dating back to KU's Champions Classic win versus Michigan State.

Through his first four games at KU, Griffen seemed to be improving. The former Alabama transfer posted higher point totals game by game and scored a KU-career-high 11 points against Oakland on 3-for-4 shooting from 3. Improving, too, was AJ Storr, who put up 16 points off the bench in the Oakland game.

Storr found his way into the starting lineup alongside Mayo for KU's high-profile game against Duke in Las Vegas. He kept that spot against Furman and Creighton, but his slow defensive start against the Bluejays might've lost him the spot. On Saturday versus Missouri, Coit returned to the starting lineup.

"AJ has had some really poor days since Creighton," Self said. "This early in the season, you want to win the battle, but not at the expense of losing the war. And I still think there's certain things that need to be done in order to have a chance to win big in the end. But the bottom line is, I know who should be our starters in theory. But it hasn't translated from practice to games or anything else like that yet. So we'll just have to hang in there and see if we can develop that. Because at this time, I don't feel great about that."

Against Missouri, Storr had two points on 1-for-7 shooting, three rebounds and four fouls in 18 minutes of play, the least amount of time Storr has played since KU's opener versus Howard (16 minutes). Despite the stat line, Storr was a big part of KU's comeback. After playing less than four minutes in the first half, Self kept Storr on the floor for 15 straight minutes in the second frame.

After Coit had an underwhelming first half, Griffen started the second half against the Tigers. But Griffen finished with three points (1-of-2 from 3) and one rebound. He missed the Creighton game due to illness, and Saturday's game was his first time playing since. Griffen ended with just 13 minutes of play.

Despite a poor first half, Coit was a huge part of the KU comeback. He finished Saturday's game 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting (4-for-7 from 3), three rebounds and an assist in 26 minutes.

After Storr and Coit joined Harris, Dickinson and Adams on the floor in the second half, KU went on a 30-15 run. Those five players — and Bidunga, who subbed in for Dickinson briefly — were on the floor from 14:55 to 1:37 in the second half, easily the best stretch of the game for any lineup.

With a wide range of skills and a deep bench, KU's last starting spot has multiple options. Griffen, Coit and Storr have each given KU great spurts of play. However, none of the three have shown exactly why they deserve the last spot yet. When it comes to the last starting spot, Self wants a player who can sub in and play to the strengths and weaknesses of Harris and Adams.

"The thing about it is and we can talk all night if you want to," Self said. "But the thing about it is Dajuan and KJ are not explosive offensive players. They're great players that win with intangibles. We all know that. So when they're really good, woof, we're pretty good. Duke, you know, we're pretty good. But when they're not playing at that level, somebody else has to be able to pick up the slack and we just haven't figured that out yet. So hopefully we can get there."

Doesn't that confirm him as a role player? When you are on the floor to pass and play defense

A role player, to me, is someone who does one thing well enough to be in there just for that thing.
He does two things - lead/facilitate our offense and play excellent defense.
So no, that does not confirm him as a role player.

Landen Lucas or Brannen Greene fits the bill more as role players than say, Dajuan or Aaron Miles.

Svi wasn't very good on defense - and wasn't a particularly good rebounder and was about average for a guard at passing.

Was he a role player?

no, not mad at all, actually.

If anything, still a little weirded out by you and like 1 or 2 other posters acting all awkwardly obsessed with me or whatever to the point of being unable to stop making these sorts of comments or otherwise just be cool, but I guess that much is beyond my control.

Cause dajuan essentially played the same fucking role as Brady. Just from the 1 instead of the 2 position. Play defense, pass the ball, and occasionally hit a shot if you are completely wide open

Can't beleive you guys are trying to argue that a guy that averaged 5 points a game was more than a role player. You guys will argue anything

it seems to be randi’s opinion that if you don’t score x points, you have to be a role player

i’m just curious where the cut off is

Where is the cut off for what you will argue? Is there one? Will you argue anything? I know some of you will

Dajuan was a 5 ppg guy. His job was to not turn it over and play defense. We all know he was a role player
