Wanna bet that the hotel industry gets spared so that he can continue to use them at his resorts?

I wish it were that simple.

Whether it's tariffs or immigration raids or whatever else, these things will be corrupt on a case-by-case basis.

Target enemies.

Reward friends.

Generate cash.

All under impenetrable cover of absolute immunity.

Donald hasn’t even taken office yet and he’s already breaking his core campaign promises

You are doing a very good job reinforcing the point that it was never about the cost of eggs.

oh yippee now we're threatening the EU with tariffs "if they don't buy more US oil and gas"

this guy thinks tariffs are a golden ticket. He really has no understanding of how economies, particularly global economies work.

zero clue how effective diplomacy works

all he knows is threats
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Or if you have no intention of backing it up.

See, on this I’d somewhat disagree.

Lots of assholes have no intention of backing up their threats. But their threats and lunacy are moderated by not wanting to be perceived as wholly untrustworthy.

Trump is uniquely gifted, among assholes, in that he does not care if everyone knows he is wholly untrustworthy.

And why would he care?

49.89% of people can’t be wrong!

Can we stop pretending Trump cares about the economics of enacting tariffs?

What our most transactional, i.e., corrupt, president in history cares about is the ability to make deal$ with partie$ who would like to obtain exemption$ from the tariffs, and to punish those, who don't.
