On a semi related note, did you see the other night they (the Thunder) jacked up 53 3 pointers and the Spurs jacked up 46?
Was that the night Wemby was out?

OKC is without Holmgren so they are basically playing a SF at C right now. A bunch of 3s from them is to be expected based on the type of lineup they are throwing out there.

Yes, and that was exactly my thought!
Not much of an "inside" game with both those guys being out - so why not jack up 99 3 pointers?

"The effort level on a nightly basis is too low. The defense sucks. The ball movement sucks. There's too much isolation basketball and chucking up of bad shots. A lot of star players are not very coachable. There is no reason the best players in the world should be giving us the worst version of basketball."

I was responding to this.
I think this is true for a lot of games.

Teams will just let a player dribble the ball up the court, the other four spread out and watch, and the guy who has the ball tries to beat his man off the dribble or just pull up a 3.

I agree the Celtics ( and other good teams ) make a point to not rely on this but Tatum has his share of these plays every game.

this is exactly why i rarely watch full games

i might watch a quarter here or there if a Jayhawk is playing, and will watch SC recaps/highlights
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

It's frustrating to be sure - regarding effort - but again, these dudes are playing 80 games and then ( hopefully for them ) could be looking at another 20 in the post season.

But also the talent level is insane - multiple times a quarter you go, ah, yup, these dudes are really good.

i guess there’s added frustration for me because, in a sense, i see it as taking for granted what they get to do for a living

Made some dumb coaching decisions and then lost his shit.
His team started 3-0.
Then lost 4 out of 5 to be 4-4.
Then won 6 in a row to be 10-4.
Then lost 7 out of 9 to be 12-11.

Lakers started 10-4. Then were 12-11. Are now 15-12.
Warriors started 12-3. Now are 14-12.
Lost to the Grizz last night by 51 with Curry, Draymond, Wiggins, Schroder, and Looney starting.
Yeah, I know, Grizz shot 27-48 from 3 point land but losing by 51 with that much talent (and money) on your roster is 100% unacceptable.
On a related note, I'll say it again. I truly like the guy, but Steve Kerr is a one of the biggest frauds in professional sports.

Can't figure out why fan interest in the NBA is waning?

Love hearing the Markkanen name mentioned. Don't love that the Bools gave him up for what ended up being a bag of red, white, and blue, basketballs.
Lauri is a really nice NBA player. Better than I thought he would be.
I was a big PekkaHead back in his KU days.

Yesterday I bought my ticket for the Clippers/Warriors game next Friday. Felt I got the best deal on the market. Dude sold me a ticket for under face value.
Possible/probable return of Kawhi.
Fully expecting to get GUTTERED and have no Kawhi, no Steph, no Wiggins. The 3 guys I most want to see play.
NOT funny that tickets for the Warriors were/are more than twice as expensive as tickets for the Hawks.
Clippers are getting ripped on for their ridiculously high priced "face value" tickets. Having a hard time filling the arena/dome.
Balmer should strongly consider pulling an Ishbia.
