Sparky is right!
The S&P 500 gained > 20% the last two years in a row, the first time that’s happened since another Democratic administration, Bill Clinton’s, in ‘97 & ‘98.
Couple that with Psych and Randy voting for lower taxes on my capital gains, and perhaps I’ll finally get what I so richly deserve!

You obviously need to get some skills that are valued by the economy.
What happened to that $325/hr consulting gig? Work 20 hrs a week there and you would be hauling in $300K, quit your other 7 jobs.

this great country was built by hard workers working hard.
Re: Evil Rich People
I do the $325 an hour job 10 hours a week. I could do it 40+ hours a week, but I prefer teaching. I learned a long time ago that life is too short to spend all of it doing things you don't like so much. I work on the 7 online classes I teach every night from 9:00 to Midnight or 1:00 am after the wife goes to bed with the little one. She gets up at 5:00 and works on her 6 online classes until the little one wakes up and I get her ready for daycare. We both also work large chunks of Saturday, and I work about four hours on Sunday.japhy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 2:55 pmWhy would anyone want to "top that"?

We live on very little of what we bring in. Both of us max out our retirement accounts monthly, dump $3,000 each in our emergency fund, and another $1,000 in a fund for our daughter so she can go to private school once she gets old enough, and have no debt other than our mortgage. I am using the skills and opportunities I have to set up my family for when I am gone.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I used to throw the newspaper to almost 200 different houses on a Sunday morning, but it never occurred to me to claim I had almost 200 jobs.
I’m obviously doing it wrong.

You’re right, Shirley. Throwing newspapers in peoples’ driveways and teaching graduate classes are absolutely equivalent. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that.
