Call me a "foodie," but I'm not really big on that term.

I think I am far more impressed by soul food and street food and well-executed tacos and enchiladas type food, than I am by going and dropping like $300 a mouth just cuz at some steakhouse or Michelin joint.

maybe it’s unsurprising, but at least for me there’s much more enjoyment when it’s something made vs bought…particularly with baked or more complex things

honestly I do a lot do the cooking but it's generally just whatever we have, trying to throw something together in the moments between school/sports and bed

At QDoba for the first time in a minute.

Pros: free guac and queso! Plus they have a birria beef special that’s actually pretty good.

Cons: too many options? They have a corn topping you can add, then a corn salsa too. And queso, spicy queso, and a creamy salsa. Keep this easy for me, I’m hungry and don’t come here often.

man. So I was gonna gush about Casamigos.

Super smooth, light. hint of peppery spice up front, then a wonderful finish I've been thinking about how to describe...

I'll say, like a good slice of melon. Not watermelon, but like cantaloupe or honeydew. But know how within the same bite you might get a taste of a less ripe part that's a little more tart or sour, but also a taste of the really ripe part that's a lot sweeter and almost pungent but in a good way? Yea, something like that.

Then I look up what reddit has to say. They pretty much just rip on it, go figure. Too smooth, mellow, too bland, too fake vanilla-y, it's just made to be a crowd pleaser for folks who don't otherwise dig tequila and because George Clooney.

I never really got vanilla, but never thought too smooth is a bad thing for sippin' liquor either.

I still like it.

But maybe that's just cuz it was free.

So last night asked the bartender for my usual: a pint of cheap beer and a shot of good tequila.

Bartender pours me Coors Lite and Casamigos.

In hindsight, I dunno how I ever got melon or pepper flavors out of it. I barely even got any tequila flavors at all out of it! It really did just taste like straight vanilla liqueur. Still really good for what it is tho, super smooth, and would be a crowd pleaser if the crowd didn't like tequila otherwise. But I don't think I'd ask for it again, nor would I wanna go buy a whole bottle of it.

I think I liked it so much last time just cuz it was free.

oh well.

At least the Coors Lite was legit tho.

If Tallboy Taco loses business, and goes out of business, the city (and state) loses. Taxes, rent, etc.
So why does the city allow the food truck to park across the street from Tallboy Taco?

I don’t think cities need to get involved in where a mobile food service that is licensed to be a mobile food service parks.

If they were in a specific location that prohibits such, different story.
