The Tx v OSU game is a competitive one.

Don't care for either team, but like good football.

Touchdown Texas, with .29 left in the first half.

Game tied 7 to 7.

He'll (Howard) get picked off again. Book it. Forced so much shit in the first half and got very lucky.

I still slightly like Notre Dame because of Rudy so go Notre Dame.

Texas was the team I most wanted to loose.

tOSU -9.5? Give me the Domers plus the points please.
I really don't care who wins. I suppose when the game starts I will root for the underdogs - which I tend to do if/when I am indifferent.
I was reminded last night that Notre Dame hasn't won a national championship since 1988.

I "hate" Notre Dame because it was crammed down our collective throat all the years when we had only 3 channels. The networks would televise ND games nearly every weekend because their cult, i.e., fan base, is nationwide.

And, when your business depends on generating earning$ by selling commercial$ for as much as you can, and football is only a means to that end, who can blame them?

I used to "hate" ND because I live in the Chicagoland area and 90% of ND fans were people who never attended ND and were cocky assholes in regards to their fandumb.

I used to "hate" tOSU because I was (and still am) a Northwestern fan and tOSU would always beat the shit out of Northwestern.

I actually like both "programs" right now. I don't like the current state of college athletics but if I am going to mention teams/programs to like, I'll say I like ND and tOSU. I still don't like their fan bases.

Intersting. I know many ND grads/alum. I don't find that to be true. Or at least not nearly as true as I find UM (That's your state MICH) alum to think they are.

I don’t like them because they are sponsored by a religion. I feel that way about many schools. See: BYU, Liberty, Baylor, DePaul, Notre Dame.

Before you list off the other 844 religiously affiliated universities/colleges Gutter, don’t. I don’t dislike them all. Just these 5 stick out to me for various reasons. Most of them because they are the most prominent of their ilk. DePaul bc peeps with DePaul shirts on have ruined two separate Cubs games with incessant chatter of a non-baseball variety.

I dislike only Friends University. They were just a little too aggressive for my tastes under one roof. Pacifist aggressive. . . .

I laughed because.....
Other than attending DePaul Basketball games, I can't recall 3 times in the past 20 years that I have seen someone wearing a DePaul shirt. I'm sure I have, I just have never noticed/paid (payed?) attention.

I surveyed a bunch of people in my office who attended tOSU and Notre Dame.
Not a single one (out of about 10) said they were going to the game. Someone did tell me, "Caroline is going". Caroline was the last person I would have guessed would go to the game. Good for her. If ND wins.
I'm a bit surprised no one else is going but.... Most of the people I asked have families - thus priorities.
I have to assume if they were single and in their 20s, there would be a better chance they would go.
