Refs
Re: Refs
Pereira is wrong objectively. Not helpful. In real time they looked like penalties because they were. Hitting a QB above the shoulders; lowering the heads on the other. The Texans were implying before the game they would be screwed so as to set up a ready excuse for their coach. The Chiefs have been penalized more than any other team in the Mahomes era. Have had more TDs taken away. Which is why we vent here. But in the end, if you let Mariotta catch his own pass, or Luck recover a fumble for TDs, your team is to blame for L. Or say, play special teams like KU against KSU.
Re: Refs
The calls in question are such thin gruel for this subject though. Throwing a helmet, whacking the ST coach? Nobody is talking about that when comparing numbers.pdub wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 3:54 pm I do think that officiating needs to be held accountable publicly - like refs/crews will get scores and those scores can be public - and we can see how specific plays were called incorrectly ( and correctly ).
While the judges of these scores would of course be affiliated with the NFL I do think it'd do a bit to mitigate concerns after a game.
Re: Refs
I agree with the holding on the Texans which is interesting because this crew had the reputation for calling lots of holds.
Re: Refs
And the Chiefs still had 8 sacks and lots of hurries. No excuses, they just kept coming.
