trump’s promises
Re: trump’s promises
Trump seriously pardoned the Jan. 6th people wo assaulted police officers?
What a sack of shit.
What a sack of shit.
Re: trump’s promises
Apparently Trump signed an EO to withdraw from the WHO.
More like, the who?
More like, the who?
Re: trump’s promises
Of course he did, and now the Proud Boys and Oathkeepers know they have immunity if they want to bring chaos and violence to the streets of America. Charlottesville was just a preliminary run.

But, when the relevant time comes, it'll have been "lone wolf" bad actors.
Re: trump’s promises
One elephant in the room that I kinda get the feeling Trump in particular simply lacks the foresight to have fully considered is,
I wonder how the next transition of power will go down...

That's 4 years from now. I work on the "you only have to worry about the shark closest to the boat" theory.
Re: trump’s promises
We going to talk about Trump's Executive Order that attempts to eliminate Birthright Citizenship?

Here's the actual Executive Order:

Using an Executive Order to directly bypass an Amendment to the Constitution is not acceptable in my opinion. If they want to repeal the 14th Amendment then they should attempt to do so in the agreed upon manner.

Re: trump’s promises
This took some nads:
Senators have received an affidavit from the former sister-in-law of Pete Hegseth, President Trump's nominee to serve as secretary of defense, that says his behavior caused his second wife to fear for her safety.

Re: trump’s promises
this is a good point, and not necessarily a bad mindset to hold.
But, if the 45 was any indication - of all the dumb shit Trump actually did, the single most egregious thing, and the one that seemed to receive the strongest consensus of, "oh shit we might legit have a constitutional crisis on our hands," was how he handled the expectation for him to leave office
If history is any indication, I dunno if he's gonna handle the expectation to leave office again well, even if there are things like term limits installed.
and that's not to say he even holds onto the big chair until January 2029 regardless.
Re: trump’s promises
He won't be on the next ticket so there at least won't be any "they stole it from me" lies to peddle. Who knows. Like I said, way too many things to worry about between now and then.BiggDick wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 2:40 pmthis is a good point, and not necessarily a bad mindset to hold.

The Constitution is removed from the White House website.

You go to that home page now and you get a stupid action movie trailer that you have to close to be able to get to the content.

smells like winning to me
(just not for those here who’ve convinced themselves they’re the winners)

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

This is NOT directed at you personally, but - the phrase "expectation for him to leave office" shows just how low we've sunk, and how real the danger is that the water is closer to a rolling boil than we frogs know.BiggDick wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 2:40 pmthis is a good point, and not necessarily a bad mindset to hold.

Re: trump’s promises
And yet, it bothered you not a whit when the sitting V.P. and the top-ranking members of your party insisted on the record - repeatedly - that the leader of the free world was in his right mind and capable of doing his job with excellence all while knowing damn well that he was a vegetable, and continuing the charade until the first debate made it impossible to lie.
God knows the damage done over the past four years and who or what was in charge while it was happening.
Oh, the irony.

Re: trump’s promises
Ok, weird, but whatever it takes for you to be OK with Trump lying and pardoning the people who beat officers half to death and vandalized our nation's Capitol after you spent years bitching nonstop about all the violent antifa scum assaulting police and vandalizing cities in BLM protests.JKLivin wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:17 pmAnd yet, it bothered you not a whit when the sitting V.P. and the top-ranking members of your party insisted on the record - repeatedly - that the leader of the free world was in his right mind and capable of doing his job with excellence all while knowing damn well that he was a vegetable, and continuing the charade until the first debate made it impossible to lie.
