Not a surprise at all. I would have been more surprised if any of those guys stayed.
Grimes was a OAD the moment he stepped on campus. His lack of great play does nothing to change that. His whole draft stock could change dramatically with good workouts and the Combine. Your tape in college only tells one part of the story.

And yeah, it wouldn’t hurt for Quentin to at least declare.

If some gm is hot for you, then go for it dude. If the workouts are more lukewarm, consider another year.

Has to say that to try to get a waiver to play immediately and not lose a year of his eligibility sitting out. I doubt it is true.

what's the general timing of transfer announcements?

Charlie transferring in itself isn't a yuge surprise, though I wasn't guessing it so soon, and before any other player announcement.
