This is kind of generally how i'm leaning but it's more I just don't to moderate this today.
I'm sure he and randy feel very brazen and it's just not going to fly this week.
Just like with the vast majority of his "independent thoughts", it looks like he is taking his talking points on the topic directly from the GOP:

https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/21/politics ... index.html

"Senate Majority Leader John Thune, a Republican from South Dakota, sidestepped questions about the pardons, saying, “We’re looking at the future, not the past” when asked whether it was a mistake for Trump."
House Republicans have been using the same bullshit tactic: “We’re looking at the future, not the past”, but today Speaker Johnson announced the formation of a special committee to investigate Jan 6th...

They have no shame, and their cult doesn't have the brains or self-respect to demand better. So, we all suffer.

And yes Randy and dolomite, et al, I'm looking at you.

Ordinarily, I would say that differing opinions are healthy.

I'd like to say their pouting and pity party will end, but idk. The more their "team loses" the more butthurt they get

Instead of just being chill reasonable people and taking a step back to see why it keeps happening, they lash put their frustrations at anyone they associate as a non leftist/democrat/liberal/anti Trumper

Which is the majority of people in the real world

“You would agree that it’s never acceptable to assault a police officer?” Alexander began.

“Sure,” Trump said.

“So, then, if I can, among those you pardoned, D.J. Rodriguez, he drove a stun gun into the neck of a D.C. police officer who was abducted by the mob that day,” Alexander said. “He later confessed on video to the FBI and pleaded guilty for his crimes. Why does he deserve a pardon?”

“Well, I don’t know,” Trump answered. “Was it a pardon? Because we’re looking at commutes, and we’re looking at pardons.”

Informed it was a pardon, Trump danced further.

“We’ll look at everything,” he continued. (However, a pardon is not rescindable.)
Trump diverted to false claims about murderers never being charged in blue cities. He veered off into false allegations about the George Floyd protests.

But in the word salad were a few details about his decision to pardon, though not focusing on Rodriguez in particular.

"The administration of United States President Donald Trump has called on federal health agencies to temporarily halt their external communications, including public reports on public health incidents."

"In the memo, the acting secretary of the Health and Human Services Department (HHS), Dorothy Fink, told staffers that some exceptions would be made for “critical health, safety, environmental, financial or nation security functions” — but only after review."

So basically your randy's of the world get to decide how people who have spent their lives in their field try to communicate to the public.

Congratulations MAGA, soon, we'll all be as un and ill-informed, as you are.

One of the people who served jail time for taking part in the US Capitol riot four years ago has refused a pardon from President Donald Trump, saying: "We were wrong that day."

Pamela Hemphill, who pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 60 days in prison, told the BBC that there should be no pardons for the riot on 6 January 2021.

"Accepting a pardon would only insult the Capitol police officers, rule of law and, of course, our nation," she said.

"I pleaded guilty because I was guilty, and accepting a pardon also would serve to contribute to their gaslighting and false narrative."

Hemphill, who was nicknamed the "Maga granny" by social media users - in reference to Trump's "make America great again" slogan - said she saw the Trump government as trying to "rewrite history and I don't want to be part of that".

"We were wrong that day, we broke the law - there should be no pardons," she told the BBC World Service's Newsday programme.
