If his points was "some entitled white morons who continue to reap the priviledged windfall of generations of ancestors being the beneficiaries of discrimination by being allowed to own and inherit property and to be educated above being working class are fine with discrimination unless it is against them the same as how they are against censorship only if it is their POV being censored" then yeah, it makes the point just fine.

It’s that, but it’s even simpler: whatever grievance this person might have had as a 22-year-old - Christ almighty, you have very clearly overcome this heinous injustice, give it a fucking rest.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 11:54 amIf his points was "some entitled white morons who continue to reap the priviledged windfall of generations of ancestors being the beneficiaries of discrimination by being allowed to own and inherit property and to be educated above being working class are fine with discrimination unless it is against them the same as how they are against censorship only if it is their POV being censored" then yeah, it makes the point just fine.

More than 98% of Costco shareholders rejected a conservative group’s proposal to evaluate and consider pulling back its efforts toward diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI. It follows a unanimous vote by Costco’s board of directors, urging shareholders to reject the motion.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I never had a membership until I met Annie. She lived in midtown and Costco was the best lowest price grocery, lowest price gas and then household goods in a food desert.Shirley wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:27 am More than 98% of Costco shareholders rejected a conservative group’s proposal to evaluate and consider pulling back its efforts toward diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI. Jesse Waters would be aghast, but I go grocery shopping with her at Costco and HyVee.
And at the end of the year they send us a refund on top of our savings. And their employees seem happy and helpful. Costco seems like a successful business model. When we move to the Empire in a couple of years we will have to drive 3 hours back to the Springs to shop at Costco. It's a pretty drive through the mountains. I suspect we will go at least every two weeks, even with a grocery across the street from us.

For years I've gone up and down the isles at Costco feeling sorry, especially for young families, for anyone who doesn't shop there.
When I lived in Orlando the only Costco was almost an hour away after driving through town and lots and lots of traffic. So, I'd wait for ~ 6-8 weeks in-between visits, because it wasn't any fun.
But now I live close enough to one that I even buy all my gas there, at a more-than-nothing discount.

He is proposing the govt send it through local charities, likely of his own choosing, and likely run by his cronies who use charities like Trump does, as personal cash cows.KUTradition wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:38 amexcept trump has, and is, already doing it

Just more cronyism by Trump so he can steal more money from everyday Americans to further enrich his wealthy buddies.
Re: DEI policies defeated
Yes, racists would certainly want to dismantle all forms of DEI, I agree. They liked it way more when simply being a white male was all it took to elevate you above those around you.
Re: DEI policies defeated
twocoach, you've got it backwards.
As White heterosexual American males, Psych and dolo are the "victims" of racism.

Find the proportional line item in the federal budget/taxes that equates to FEMA spending. Cut everyone's federal taxes by that amount and allow the States to collect it themselves and spend within their borders, We would soon find out how much the Gulf Red States rely on money from the Blue States to bail them out. The fuckwits would lap that up until they find out how it works.

I'm fine with equality of opportunity. I am not fine with mandated outcomes. That is, by definition, dumb.

“As far as I know, this White House certainly still intends to celebrate — and we will continue to celebrate American history and the contributions that all Americans, regardless of race, religion or creed, have made to our great country,” Leavitt said. “And America is back.”
It’s unclear how the White House plans to commemorate this year’s Black History Month, which begins on Saturday, Feb. 1. While the press secretary said the White House “still intends to celebrate,” she immediately followed that statement with a remark about celebrating everyone — regardless of their race.

I believe even this (lie of a) statement is at odds with a policy directive that federal agencies not recognize months/days of acknowledgement?KUTradition wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 7:18 am “As far as I know, this White House certainly still intends to celebrate — and we will continue to celebrate American history and the contributions that all Americans, regardless of race, religion or creed, have made to our great country,” Leavitt said. “And America is back.”
