Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Re: Kicks
I'm not a lawyer, but if he purchased those ahead of time in anticipation of needing them later for an occasion like today, isn't that what they call consciousness of guilt?
Apparently, not.
It refers to a powerful and highly incriminating inference that a judge or jury may draw from the statements or conduct of a defendant (accused) after a crime has been committed suggesting that the defendant knows he or she is guilty of the charged crime.
______________________________________
In the law of evidence, consciousness of guilt is a type of circumstantial evidence that judges, prosecutors, and juries may consider when determining whether a defendant is guilty of a criminal offense. It is often admissible evidence,[1] and judges are required to instruct juries on this form of evidence.[2] Deceptive statements or evasive actions made by a defendant after the commission of a crime or other wrongdoing are seen as evidence of a guilty conscience. These are not the typical behaviors of an innocent person, and a "defendant's actions are compared unfavorably to what a normal, innocent person would have done, with the implication that the discrepancy indicates guilt".[3]

wait, who are you talking about?
Luigi's slip-ons look like the standard issue inmate kicks.
The dood to the left of him's goofy wing tip/skecher sneaker sole things are almost enough to bring DC out of hiding.
but the reason I put the pic here is, the dood to the right is apparently rocking some obscure Air Jordans...tho, kind of pointless to post that now, with Gutter in seclusion in the west wing.

Fully admit I was too stoopid/clueless and hadn't looked at this thread when I made my post/s on the UHC thread this morning.

Re: Kicks
Funny, because my first thought when I started watching the video was Sabrina Ionescu.
Then he mentioned her.
I have seen men (and NBA players) wearing her shoes semi often. I have been tempted to buy and wear them. It's truly a nice looking, fairly well made (as far as Nike and the current state of Basketball shoes goes), and decent priced, shoe. Both her 1st and 2nd editions.
My guess is more than 50% of the people who have purchased the shoe don't know it's "her" (Ionescu's) shoe.
Clark's shoe/s, I have zero doubt people will buy them primarily because it's Clark's shoe. No matter if they look like shit.

Nike is the world’s largest sportwear brand but the company is on a mission to regain its stride after a challenging year. A series of poor earnings reports over the past year eventually wiped out $28 billion from the company’s market cap and in June, the company experienced its worst trading day ever as a publicly traded company. Nike has blamed its performance on everything from macro challenges to remote employees, but analysts say it was part of a years-long series of strategic errors. During an effort to focus on direct-to-consumer sales through digital channels, analysts say the company has started to lack innovation and ceded market share to newer rivals like Hoka and On Running. Nike is now dealing with an excess of inventory from major sales slowdowns as consumers turn to newer styles from other brands. Now, all eyes are the company’s new CEO, 32-year Nike veteran Elliott Hill, to turn the sportswear giant around.

I got me some fugly bull junk Travis Scott's Nikes today. I think most people hit on the drop. I'm flipping them and probably losing some money in the process.
These is them.

Forgetting that, I am not a fan of these but they are much better than the Travis Scotts. What say you?

Re: Kicks
You didn't really miss anything. While Ant Ed and the Jayhawks players are shown in the video, the real winner here is Adidas.
The unfortunate thing for the people who like the shoe is that they can't buy that exact shoe - being that it's a PE (Player Edition/Exclusive) and very few are released to the "public".
