Let’s have a war!
Re: Let’s have a war!
oh sheesh.
let's go with your math, then.
Could you find any examples of all of a voter expressing anything at all along the lines of, "I am withholding a vote for Harris so as to support Trump's chances," please?

Re: Let’s have a war!
That’s the point - that is not a thing that needs to be said or expressed, or even desired or intended.
It is simply how math works.
Math doesn’t care what the non-voter said or expressed or desired or intended.
Re: Let’s have a war!
you're right. Math does NOT care what the non-voter said or expressed or desired or intended. As such, I dunno if it's appropriate to try and use math to calculate what the non-voter said or expressed or desired or intended anyway.
If you really wanna use m math to calculate what non-voters said - I think the better arithmetic here would be to realize that a withheld vote (or non-vote) actually has a value of zero (to every candidate from whom it is withheld).
As such, I don't think it's appropriate to be adding up a bunch of zeros as some quantitive evidence that voters who withheld votes were actually trying to support any other candidate yet, nor were they trying to say any other candidate is better.
After all, zero is the mathematical absence of any quantity. So no matter how many zeros you try to add up, you're always going to get a sum of zero.
If a vote DOES have any mathematical value, it's only when it's a vote affirmatively cast, when each vote's value is 1, and only to the candidate for whom the vote is cast.
I think this is the only mathematical way to measure whether a voter supports a candidate, or thinks a particular candidate is better.
So let's not pretend anyone otherwise withholding a vote was actually trying to support Trump or suggest Trump is better, shall we?
but, sheesh. This discussion is so dumb!

Re: Let’s have a war!
In a Truth Social post Wednesday morning, Trump called out Russian President Vladimir Putin by name, saying that if “we don’t make a ‘deal,’ and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries.”

Trump doing the good work.
Showing the base his tough guy side.
He will knuckle under and give Vlad what he wants.

Why is he telling his fan base this, instead of Putin?

Re: Let’s have a war!
Because Putin laid it out this way.
Trump gets to cosplay a tough guy.
This, of course, proves that Trump and Vlad are NOT in cahoots.

The funniest part is the “high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions”
But Donny, isn’t a tariff a type of tax anyway?
And what exactly do you put taxes and tariffs on if sanctioning them means limiting trade to tax or tariff anyway?
And since they’re already sanctioned, are you gonna just like…sanction them harder?

How embarrassing for Vlady: (Or, is it "Vladie"?)

Re: Let’s have a war!
Ukraine may or may not have made a deal with the Cold War devil but there’s no use in trying to discuss that.
Instead, let’s just say it’s interesting to see this burgeoning concern about wars with no end in sight

Re: Let’s have a war!
I hope you do not actually believe that the Trump administration’s trajectory here has anything at all to do with genuine “concern about wars with no end in sight.”
Re: Let’s have a war!
Yea, I get that the main takeaway here is that - spoiler alert! - Trump was once again full of shit, about the 24 hour rhetoric.
Do you guys think it might also be evidence that Trump may not be as manipulated by Putin as we thought?

Re: Let’s have a war!
he means Ukraine shouldve rolled over for Putin and conceded land...just like wants Denmark to do.
If you do as you're instructed....no war...see...easy peasy

Re: Let’s have a war!
Excuse me?
How can Trump allocating responsibility for Putin’s war on Ukraine, to Ukraine, possibly be interpreted as “evidence that Trump may not be as manipulated by Putin as we thought?”
Re: Let’s have a war!
look pal...he talked real tough ok? he even threatened tariffs. THEN he blamed it on Ukraine. So...yknow...youre the joker here obviously
