Chiefs 2024
Re: Chiefs 2024
Thanks twocoach. Had not seen the Hardman update. Actually would rather he not play anyway.
Re: Chiefs 2024
I am completely on the same page. Luck plays a part in every game--God help me, the Jayhawks had terrible luck this year. But good teams get stops and make plays. KC is the best team in football when all three phases of the game are weighed. That isn't luck. That is skill, experience and coaching.JayhawkInIowa726 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 4:35 pmNora Princiotti was simply the most easily accessible example for me to illustrate what I saw across the media landscape all week including the supposed officiating expert who immediately on the broadcast said it was an inexplicable call (likely influencing all the coverage).RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 4:03 pmIs there a reason why you refer to Nora Princiotti as "they"?JayhawkInIowa726 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 2:38 pm Totally expect the Chiefs to get boned on a call when the media is putting out stuff like this:

Not the only example, but they describe the roughing flags as "some very bad flags for questionable hits on quarterback Patrick Mahomes." In the description they say the texans defenders actually ran into each other, ignoring that the first defender's helmet went straight into Mahomes'.
I've hardly ever seen the media pile on with such certainty when the calls were in the gray area at best and justifiable. They also call the PI on Cincy a suspicious call when in the same breath they say the defender got there early, the definition of a PI penalty.
Between that and the announcers AND rules analyst going nuts in the game about the calls, they're building this narrative way more than refs are...
I am confident 99% of the people at the mall MICH goes to have no idea who Nora Princiotti is.
Bottom line to/for me is....
People are going to hate on those who are at the top. In different ways. It comes with the territory.
The ref shit, and luck stuff, gets redundant and nauseating but I don't think there is an honest Chiefs fan who wouldn't say luck (heck - bad luck being "luck" too) has played a role this season.
I would have no problem laughing (in a good way) if the Chiefs win 2 more games this season and people feel it's because the refs helped them and the Chiefs got lucky. Fuck 'em - meaning the whiners.
I have no problem saying that luck influenced the season, I do have a problem with people saying the Chiefs get all the calls and and treating that can be called either way as flat out wrong..

The local radio up here has gone full deep state conspiracy thinking the refs are in on it.
It’s nuts.

What's nuts to me is that people believe the NFL is making the refs help the Chiefs get to and win the Super Bowl.
Well, maybe it's not so nuts?

Does the NFL benefit more by having any other AFC team in the Super Bowl (other than maybe if the Jets were)?

alright, Chiefs…time for you to salvage this weekend for us
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

We live in the Age of Stupidity where dumb people think they are smart people because they memorize and adhere to other people's cornball conspiracy theories. It's easier for them to believe there is a scheme to hold their team back than to believe their favorite players and coaches made mistakes at critical times.RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 6:57 pmWhat's nuts to me is that people believe the NFL is making the refs help the Chiefs get to and win the Super Bowl.

The same people here that believe all the corny political theories are the same ones saying Self "isn't dialed in" because Harris throws a ball at Griffen's feet for a TO, misses two free throws and then Mayo throws a wimpy, scared inbounds pass after letting his guy drill a deep 3 in his face.

Re: Chiefs 2024
KC either has 2 weeks off or it's the offseason. Time to give everything you have.
I think KC's offense s. Buffalo's defense will do better than Buffalo's offense vs. KC's defense and I think KC has the better special teams groups.
My worries are whether KC can run enough to keep the rush honest and extend some drives and whether KC's defense can contain Allen's rushing.
It will come down to who makes the most mistakes in committing turnovers and costly penalties.
I want to see KC have a shot at this threepeat. They're so close to a shot at history. Just gotta execute when it matters most.

I just drove a dude who said he was being dropped off at Pacheco‘s sisters house to go to the game with her, as he is a childhood friend. I am now a fan of Pacheco.
Re: Chiefs 2024
One key defender today will be Chiefs CB Jaylen Watson. KC can't put McDuffie on everyone.
I am also curious to see if Karlaftis can recreate the volume of pressure he had last week when he had a career high 3 sacks. George Karlaftis now has 7 sacks in 8 career playoff games. Von Miller, Nick Bosa, and Arik Armstead are the only active players with more and he's only 23. Frank Clark holds the all time Chiefs sack record for KC, with 10.5 playoff sacks as a Chief.

Re: Chiefs 2024
Benford likely to play. Was on team plane. Bills didn't bring up anyone to the active roster.
Karlaftis and co will have to get after Allen without letting him escape.
That's going to be very difficult...but we can't let him scramble for 60 yards and a TD or two on us.

Re: Chiefs 2024
Spag's was dialing up the blitz's against the Texans. We had 8 sacks and I think I saw us blitz like 7 times in a row late in 2nd half. Josh Allen is not sacked very often and runs really well. I would think Spag's will not blitz as much. Try and play it straight and limit Josh's legs. The spy dilemma comes into play. Hard to waste a defender just to see if QB runs.twocoach wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 11:17 am One key defender today will be Chiefs CB Jaylen Watson. KC can't put McDuffie on everyone.

Need to watch intently on Bills holding Jones and Karlaftis.
My bet? Not one hold called against Bills on a passing play.

In (yet, another) selfless act in an effort to increase the Chiefs chances of winning tonight, I ordered a Supreme Pizza with thin, crispy crust.
It seemed like the least I could do.
