Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

U.S. allies Canada and Mexico said that they would implement their own tariffs in response to Trump's, a move that signals further economic upheaval among the close trading partners. China, a U.S. competitor, did not mention retaliatory tariffs or other specific measures but said it would file a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization and enact "necessary countermeasures."…

so, the Canada and Mexico tariffs are largely due to fentanyl, even though the majority of fentanyl smuggled into this country is done so by U.S. citizens

Re: trump’s promises
Yeah, there is NO rational support (in fentanyl) for the Canada actions. And yet, >40% of our voters simply do not care that Trump is making up justification for actions that have us pointed to the question, "what's the difference between a recession and a depression?"KUTradition wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 10:46 am so, the Canada and Mexico tariffs are largely due to fentanyl, even though the majority of fentanyl smuggled into this country is done so by U.S. citizens

[Trudeau] also encouraged Canadians to think about ways to “do your part,” such as opting for Canadian-made products over American-made products at stores and changing summer vacation plans to stay in Canada...

I think it is rational for a Canadian to be as fearful of vacationing in the US as an American should have been to vacation in Russia ten years ago.KUTradition wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 11:07 am [Trudeau] also encouraged Canadians to think about ways to “do your part,” such as opting for Canadian-made products over American-made products at stores and changing summer vacation plans to stay in Canada...
