I know for sure I don't think Auburn TT Mich St or Virginia are the best teams in the country.
Then you haven’t paid attention to UVA. Granted, I’ve been on UVAs bandwagon all year, but they’ve had 3 losses all year. 2 to Duke. By a combined 12 points. Haven’t been below 6th ranked team all year. 2nd best offense and 5th best defensive according to KenPom.

They’re style is boring, I get it. But defense is important, and they can shoot. Their 2 best guys finally did well on offense during the tournament against Purdue.

They are one of the best teams in the country. And anyone who says otherwise doesn’t get it.
I'm not saying UVA isn't good or 1 of the top teams. Just not THE best.

And I don't discount UVA because of style like others. Their style wasn't any more boring to watch this year than our style. In fact they are probably easier to watch than our guys who can't shoot to save their lives. They're playing slower and scoring less on purpose. We just couldn't shoot.

If you think Duke is better than, say, Michigan State, then Duke could have done a hell of a lot to prove as much by, you know, beating Michigan State.

And I get that Virginia is good and all, but goddamn is that offense boring.

It’s a liability, too - if they were to face a deficit, it’s not like the team is designed to go on a run to get back in it.

Yes, because a team has never been eliminated by a team worse than them. Ever.

Michigan State didn't prove to be "better" than duke as a team. They proved they won the single elimination game against duke.

If they played 7 games I think duke wins the series.

Suddenly we are using the tournament as evidence about who the better team was?

Bucknell. Bradley. Stanford. VCU. Northern Iowa. LOL come on.

Well, they were down 14 this year and came back to win, but I hear what you're saying. It's probably their biggest weakness.

In my mind, I thought Virginia was no.2 in the country behind Duke, only because they lost to them twice. Right now though, I think Virginia is the favorite. Auburn could upset them if they get on one of those crazy 3-point runs. But Auburn is missing their best player too. I hope Texas Tech can beat Michigan State. Gonna be tough.

Ha! I didn't even think about that. Karma at its finest.

The best 2 teams this year were Duke and UNC...neither in final 4.

In years past we've had that happen to us too. The tournament isn't designed for the best team to win.

The goal for the season is not to be deemed by some couch jockey as one of the "best" teams in the country. It's to get to the Final Four and win the title. The four teams standing are the four teams that best executed their plans to accomplish that goal.

I thought the most fitting Duke "bad luck" was that they tried to miss a free throw intentionally and the f-ing thing still went in.

It was so unfair. Duke just loves too much.

Just saw that Calipari got a lifetime contact with UK. I guess they were worried about UCLA stealing him away.

I'll agree with one of the teams you have listed as the 2 best. There argument for UNC being one of them isn't very good, IMO. They were definitely one of the better/hotter teams at the end, but they weren't in that conversation until about early to mid-February.

So, I saw today that Shaka was listed as a candidate for the UCLA job.

What would be more LOL-worthy:

UCLA saves UT and hires Shaka away, UT then agrees with Beard for $5m a year. UCLA predictably flounders.

OR

Shaka wins the NIT so UT let's him finish out his contract and blows their opportunity with Beard?

That should be a clue to just how clueless UCLA is right now. The program is totally lost right now.

What would 8-10 in the Big XII translate to in the Pac 12?
Gotta at least contend put them top 3 or 4.
