Tim's, as they call it in canada, is still sort of new over here in the United States. Border states are hip. I've had one in my town for awhile now. But they are fairly recently starting to spread all over the U.S.

I wanted some greasy protein for breakfast yesterday on my way to the airport and got like a sausage and egg bagel and damn near shit my britches on the plane because of it.

How do people feel about half cupcakes? I was an asshole today and took a half and left a half.

So, my graduate advisor got cancer a few years ago, and he kept it private. I was only told about it from someone I used to work with who continued to work in that lab. I respected his privacy and never let him know that I knew about his cancer.

I found out today, from the same person, that my former advisor's cancer came back and is really bad, what he told me was that they hope he will survive until the end of the year. Again, he told me not to say anything to him, or let him know that I know about his condition.

Should I respect my former advisor's wishes and not say anything, or should I reach out to him and let him know that I'm aware?

Tough call Phd. You might reach out to him and just talk and see if he wants to open up with you. If he doesn't, after talking to him for a few minutes, you may get a better sense of should I or shouldn't I.

Last month marked the 10th anniversary of my Dad's passing. I called my Mom on the day and talked to her for a while. I did not want to bring it up, and she didn't, so we just had our normal conversation. Hopefully, she felt better that I called.

It's hard either way, and I'm sorry for you and your friend.
