No, and that's why Trump won, because the entire Democratic party seems to think the same way you do here.

People will just not vote.

If only there was another viable candidate like Gary, "what's an Aleppo", Johnson to waste your oh so chaste & precious vote on in 2020, instead.

^^^^ Precisely the attitude I refer to in my post above.

Your post, that: " Democrats need to put forth someone who is relatable and who can garner some of the moderate folks", is so radically insightful, there's no way I can possibly disagree or argue with that.

You act like moving toward the middle for the general election after winning the primary is some kind of apocryphal insight. Hint: It's not.

And wasting your vote on a third party candidate with no prayer to win, while spiritually fulfilling, is just dum when the result is to enhance the chances that an asshole like Trump will be elected.

I don't think apocryphal means what you think it means...

And I agree that this mentality you're exhibiting that is so ubiquitous amongst dems is exactly how we ended up with this POTUS. I don't care how rational it is - people aren't going to hold their nose and vote for a candidate they have significant problems with, even if it would get rid of Trump.

It's the reason Pete has the best chance of winning. He can attract people to vote for him, not just against Trump.

ummm

When it comes to people holding their nose to vote for a candidate they have significant problems with, isn’t that a big reason how Trump got elected?

How many republicans voted last presidential election cycle based on little more than “at least he’s not Cankles?”

If you didn't have to hold your nose to vote for Trump, you deserve the America he leaves you with.
