it seems to me, that other than the administration’s narrative, we’re no better off with north korea...they haven’t given up their nuclear program, and continue provocative missile tests

if anything, drumpf has legitimized a murderous tyrant

Is this the Trump administration’s biggest policy initiate to date?

It all boils down to the fact that a lot of people (mostly women) hate Trump simply because of his language. You've got to dig deeper and look and the less obvious and more import things, such as his actions. Actions are more important than words. Clinton had great speech and beautiful language, but her actions were like a monster.

Having said this, Trump hasn't been a great president and I will be the first to admit that he's been a disappointment overall. However, US elections are about damage control, and he was the better option. Pains me to even have to say this, as I lean more towards a liberal.
Good grief. I am rarely surprised around here any more and this surprised me. "Simply because of his language?" Wow. And people thought Dems were disconnected from the thoughts and opinions of those on the other side of the aisle.

No other US president would agree to meet with the leader of North Korea over the last several decades unless they first met certain conditions related to tangible denuclearization, and human rights concessions for the North Korean people. Meeting with Kim as an equal elevated him not only among his own people, but throughout the world. And what did Trump get for such an ignorant act? Nothing. Nothing other than "love letters".

It was a stunt too stupid to adequately characterize in terms of diplomacy.

Eh, I believe that Trump cutting massive amounts of environmental regulations and taxes has led to big businesses having more money which in turn makes the economy "better". But it's fuzzy logic in that the long term impact of padding the books like this is going to have a massive negative impact on our nation.

He's stealing from the future to make the present look artificially better to help him get reelected and further enrich himself. I mean, we all see the con, right? No one seriously thinks he is really doing what he says he is doing do they? The vast majority of items he says and does are smoke and mirrors to bolster his bid for reelection.

Right, let's criticize a person because he wants to talk to another person. You should know being a woman that problems are solved by communication.

If Obama had went to talk to North Korea, he would be praised by everyone and might even win another Noble Peace Prize in the process.

The economy is only smoke and mirrors if you don't like who's in the White House. If you like the person in the White House then the economy is roaring.

When you need to pay-off (bail-out, or whatever you want to call it) your ardent supporters so that they literally don't lose the farm "alright" isn't the word I would be using for how things are.

BTW, this one, too, is an entirely self-inflicted wound.

Conservatives roasted Obama when as a candidate he said he would be willing to meet with the North Korean leader and then roasted him further when as President he said he would be willing to meet with the leader of Iran without preconditions.

So sell that made up shit somewhere else. Trump hasn't met with North Korea to solve any problems. It was a photo op and a sound byte with no substance just like the rest of his presidency. He's more bothered by not winning the Nobel Peace Prize for the meeting than the fact that North Korea played him for a fool and have continued doing all the things they told him they'd stop doing.

So in your words not mine, it was a good idea for president obama to "want" to meet with north korea. But a bad idea for president trump "to" meet with north korea.

Good stuff.
