I don't think they're going to fine him. He will show up on or before August 6, which is the last day he can show up and accrue a season toward free agency and pension/benefits.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 2:48 pm If he didn't show, I'd imagine Chiefs start fining him. And right now, he still isn't making much money in terms of base salary ($1.1M) and fining him will hurt his pockets.
By reporting on time, he doesn't get fined, can talk with Chiefs more directly about salary and wants, even though I know the agent does 99% of that.
He's probably worth $17M a year with another solid year of production. Right below Frank Clark.
According to Terez Paylor who said this a few weeks ago. The Chiefs think a lot of his sacks and plays were improvised and more for individual gain then team gain. They want him to have one more year of production before they pay him.

Well for league purposes, sure, he can show up on or before August 6th to get a season accrued.
But the Chiefs report date was today and they have their own set of rules for reporting dates and what happens if players don't show.

If they do that for a freaking minicamp in June, you'd imagine they do it for training camp.

Very surprising. Great news. Happy to have read this one wrong.

Reaser, the kid from the AFFL may have injured his Achilles. With Breeland injuring his thumb that is two injuries to an already shaky cornerback group for the Chiefs.

Peterson is suspended for the first six games of the season.
Would be nice to have him for the back half but at what cost?

Re: 2019 NFL Season
My guess is multiple draft picks. If given those terms I would believe the Chiefs make a move on that. It would seem and be smart that the Chiefs try and win in the next two years while they have 'team friendly' deals in place before they have to back up the Brinks truck for Mahomes. The more likely scenario is the Chiefs play the waiver wire or the cuts of potentially big names (Haden, Norman) and have to over pay for either one of them.
I also read that Hill just left camp with an apparent 'lower' leg injury. By all accounts it was a lower ankle injury and he was able to 'limp' off under his own power.

Thank goodness. Painful but that can be managed within a couple of days. My guess is that they will hold him out for the rest of the week to rest and heal.

I wouldn't give up a 1st rounder and a 3rd for 1.5 seasons of Peterson.
Re: 2019 NFL Season
I think you see what you have with Breeland.
You can't be selling your future just because you have to pay big money to Mahomes in 2 years.

Re: 2019 NFL Season
Depends what you do with Jones (which is influenced by what you have or don't have with Nnadi and Speaks).
Either way - you can't just Danny Ainge your way through Mahomes' entire prime.

Re: 2019 NFL Season
Breeland isn't the issue. The issue is that they have ZERO depth after him. The possibilities of heading into a season were it is Super Bowl or bust and a position that is of high importance features names like Wade and Ward is not a settling feeling. Not to mention that Fuller, by all counts is having a bad start to camp.

Ainge took the route of collecting too many picks and not doing anything with them.
We've actually been sending picks away for players.
I'm not sure if 1.5 seasons of Peterson is worth a potential franchise player for years 3-7 of Mahomes career -- we very likely wouldn't be able to resign Peterson after those years.
That said, I guess if you can get a good comp pick from him, you wouldn't be 'loosing' multiple picks in the end.

You're delusional.
I took a quick glance at every draft from 2007-2017. I think the best guys are Greg Olsen (2007), Clay Matthews (2009) and DeAndre Hopkins (2014).
