Indeed. It would be a fascinating study if posts here were truly anonymous. Post only the content and not the user name along with it and things would rapidly disintegrate into a horror show.

Has anyone spent any time on a chan board?

Is there any redeeming value to it? Or is it all just offensive bullshit, even the knitting board?

And while the article was interesting, it kinda left me wondering more about freedom of speech, as a constitutionally protected freedom?

Aren’t certain types of speech NOT protected, such as hate speech and calls for violence?

And though posters may be anonymous, can law enforcement still track down folks if it’s a matter of investigating a crime?

I would think the Chan boards are filled with Lobster types, constantly trying to one-up each other. Sounds like hell.

Well, he clearly has no problem calling me a Male Feminist - whatever that is - and insults my wife, a woman I assume he's never met.

That and calling people on this board retards.

I suppose that's not hateful.

(Once again, someone please quote this so Lobster sees it. Gracias).

I must have missed some of this. I think he called me a male feminist at some point. I'm ok with that. The rest is over the top.

So a white nationalist tried to shoot up a mosque in Norway. Before he acted, he apparently expressed admiration for the El Paso shooter on 4chan.

Have not seen anything about the El Paso shooter relating to the Norwegian terrorist.

Did see he posted "right wing sympathies" (Norwegian right wing) and praised figures like Vidkun Quisling, the leader of Norway under Nazi occupation during World War II.

Is there where we are supposed to say he sounds like an American republican and blame trump?
