he’ll ignore the signs because they don't fit his narrativeMjl wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2019 11:04 pmFirst look up facile.
After looking at your picture, look at the fed dropping interest rates.
Either they see warning signs, which is bad, or they're taking orders from the President, which is probably even worse.
And look at the deficit, which is not supposed to go up when the economy is strong.

So nice to finally have a "business man" in the White House!

Re: Today In: "Fiscal Responsibility Party"!
I have no narrative. I’m just an adult that knows when an economy is good, and when it ain’t.
Of course a recession is coming at some point. We been chugging along for a good portion now. Economies go up. Economies go down. It’s the way. Until then i’m gonna dig on it.
The likes of you people can wish on a recession. I’m just gonna ride the good times while they last.

That’s how hate filled some have become. They would wish on a recession.
Fortunately you will eventually grow up.

I’m so hate filled that I wish that recession would go back to where it came from!

Re: Today In: "Fiscal Responsibility Party"!
Way to make up a narrative and then chastise people for it. I have not seen anyone WISH for a recession. What I have seen is people noting that there are troubling signs out there that should be paid attention to.
Re: Today In: "Fiscal Responsibility Party"!
I suppose if you live with your family, no wife and kids to support, no obligations, what do you care what the economy is doing.
Re: Today In: "Fiscal Responsibility Party"!
Does the federal gummint’s policies count as part of what the economy is doing?
What do you care about that?
What do you care about that?
Re: Today In: "Fiscal Responsibility Party"!
No idea. Been married for 20 years with 2 kids and numerous investment vehicles that I am trying to maximize.
Between the tax changes Trump installed that are fucking me out of money I used to get and the rises in virtually every expense such as groceries and every day items, I have less total money in my pocket during this "great" economy than I did when it wasn't this "great".
Re: Today In: "Fiscal Responsibility Party"!
Wishing on a recession and pointing out the bankrupt, blatant hypocrisy of "conservative" economic "principles" for the last 40 years, are different things. But you're safe, because no one who reads your posts would expect you to appreciate the difference.

Wait! Didn't Trump just yesterday, not to mention Larry Kudlow and Peter Navarro on the Sunday talk shows, tell us that the economy is fine, and there's no recession coming?
Does anyone know if the reduced revenue from the lowered payroll tax would add to the budget deficit/national debt, or, will these tax cuts, like Reagan's, Bush II's, and Trump's previous tax cut, "pay for themselves"?
White House officials eyeing payroll tax cut in effort to reverse weakening economy
Several senior White House officials have begun discussing whether to push for a temporary payroll tax cut as a way to arrest an economic slowdown, three people familiar with the discussions said, revealing growing concerns about the economy among President Trump’s top economic aides.

My god, there is nothing that this guy wont do to the system to temporarily and artificially inflate this economy. I guess when it's one of the few things that Trump can convince some people he is doing well then there's no line he wont cross.
Everyone else sees him propping this up until next year's election, right? Sometimes I feel like I am having a stroke just watching people shrug their shoulders as this criminal steals right out of their front pocket.

March 1, 2018: Trump announces a 25% tariff on steel and a 10% tariff on aluminum imports
March 2, 2018: Trump tweets "Trade wars are good, and easy to win."
March 8, 2018: Trump signs order to impose the tariffs effective after 15 days.
US Steel ($X) down 73% since then.

Wonder if you melted down having a stroke when Obama cut the payroll tax?twocoach wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 5:40 pm My god, there is nothing that this guy wont do to the system to temporarily and artificially inflate this economy. You're so transparent.
Complaining on 1 thread that you've got less money in your pocket under trump (which I sort of think is a lie because the 2 main deductions he took away from you don't amount to THAT much, and LOL @ grocery prices because mine haven't gone up enough to notice)....and then in another thread complaining about a payroll tax cut that would put more money in your pocket.
Which is it?
Re: Today In: "Fiscal Responsibility Party"!
When Obama cut payroll taxes everyone, including himself, knew that it was one way to prop up a sagging economy. Payroll tax cuts are not something which is done during a strong economy. It is an admission that the economy is getting weaker.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 12:58 pmWonder if you melted down having a stroke when Obama cut the payroll tax?twocoach wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 5:40 pm My god, there is nothing that this guy wont do to the system to temporarily and artificially inflate this economy. Which is it - the economy is strong (no tax cut needed - actually will cause inflation!) or is it weak (stimulus needed to prop up a weak economy)?
It has nothing to do with putting money in people's pocket. If it was they would never have eliminated the local and State tax deduction. You're just so gullible buying the Trump lies hook-line-and-sinker
