Is TV on the Radio that poppy though?

Compared to like, Blink 182 or somethin.

I mean that video is pretty catchy, but I had never heard it previously, and doesn’t immediate impose itself upon my internal juke box.

Offset that with some blink 182 hooks I’ve had stuck in my head since junior high whether I wanted it to be or not.

This particular song is kind of punk-pop.

I saw Taking Back Sunday live (for free) at P&L a few years ago. It was sad, and also perfect.

Was listening to some old school Kansas, "Lamplight Symphony" on the youtoob. Right in the middle it cuts out for some stoopid commercial. WTF.

Living in the middle of it, I hear it occasionally. I listen to it Saturday mornings on WRFL, UK's student radio station. I can't take it for more than 30 minutes though.

I’m with you, 99. I like some bluegrass here and there but I don’t know if I can even make it though 30 minutes.

In CO it’s probably thee most popular music genre, among white millennials at least, a demographic which Plano accurately summarized.

Agree 100%. I respect the musicians and wish I could play a guitar that well, but don't care to listen to it, baked or not.

ousdahl, I was wondering if you were asking about "Bluegrass music" as a way to add a reference to the new Ken Burns Series on PBS that started last night, Country Music. There are 7 more episodes playing over the next seven nights, and they can be streamed at the link.

“The Rub” (Beginnings – 1933)
Episode 1 | See how what was first called “hillbilly music” reaches new audiences through phonographs and radio, and launches the careers of country music’s first big stars, the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers.

Wait, why would you wanna listen not baked??

I mean, uh, yeah I saw an article about that new Ken Burns series on country.

I’m curious to watch. Might have to make the effort.

I’m particularly curious about how he frames modern country. In he article Burns is quoted as saying, “country gets this bad rap as being all this cheesy rah rah about pickup trucks and blue jeans and cold beers and dirt roads, when there’s more to it...”

But at least among modern country, is there, Mr. Burns?

Well they got through the War years. Fascinating look at a segment of Americana.

The actual war years were barely touched. I really enjoyed the show though.

I missed episode 1. I'll have to catch up on that one.

Shouldn't you be unpacking, instead of watching TV?

We're just about there. Working the yard now. MOLfK had a LOT of plants and weeds and untrimmed trees.

If we'd known, we would have sent Leawood down to help.

Yard work/landscaping is his jam.

Back yard is done, front yard this weekend.

Someone, probably MOLfK, planted a Japanese Maple next to the front door and way too close to the foundation. The thing is huuuuge, about 9 ft tall and just as wide. I think I'm going to have to take it out. I hate to do it, but...

Should have gone apartment/condo. 12 years since I have performed yard work.

Do I get pizza, Mexican, steak, bbq, expensive food, or order in because I don’t want to walk more than a block in this unseasonable, Florida-style heat and humidity?

Townhouse..... we split off a section of the "garden" level as an apartment and the basement dweller pays for the taxes, cable, half the mortgage and utilities while we have 2800 sf for our own above. In a tough housing market like Denver, real estate ownership can be a hell of a racket.
