I wonder if there's a workable scenario where there's a "designated player" exception that sort of lives outside the cap. I could see it both ways from the NFLPA's standpoint. On one hand, it sort of perpetuates quarterbacks getting treated differently. On the other hand, since it's not like quarterbacks are going to get less valuable, it might be helpful to other position groups to not have to compete (in finite cap space) with quarterbacks.

Pat and his team have been smart and strategic from day one. With TV payoffs and other NFL money generating options coming up I have a feeling his deal will be very interesting.

Also, if I’m the Chiefs I’m all in on Ramsey. Young, elite, and I mean Ramsey is elite corners don’t come around very often. If you have the opportunity to get one you go all in.

I just saw on Twitter that the best present offers are a 2020 1st and 2021 5th, and a 2020 1st and a player.

If that (or a little bit more) is the price...let's go.

All day. The belief is that Philly is the team offering the 2020 1st and 2021 5th and Chiefs are the 2020 1st and a player (Possibly could be Kendall Fuller)

I’d give up 2020 1st, 2021 5th AND Fuller if that’s what it takes

That leak, then, is the Jags telling the Chiefs to kick in a 2021 4th or something.

Maybe. Perhaps Veach is waiting for a cheaper option. You know like resigning Gaines, Revis or Scambrick.

If they don't make a move they are gambling with the devil that Mo Claiborne is a lot better than what most people assume he will be.

Or, that the Cardinals will change their tune on Peterson.

I wonder if something drastic is the Jags changing the price from 2 1st rounders down to 1 1st rounder and some other pieces.

I seem to believe that Veach is in no hurry to make a move right now. While the corners aren't the strength of the team they haven't looked awful either. Perhaps you wait it out and see if the asking price comes down or more corners become available.

That being said if the short wish list is Howard, PP, and Jalen it is going to cost the Chiefs regardless especially considering everyone knows the Chiefs would like a corner 1 and they don't come cheap.

Another thing to keep in mind, the Chiefs probably believe they have a more than capable starter in Mo Claiborne who has 2 more games being suspended before he's back. Former top-10 pick out of LSU and a starter in 73 of his 77 games played.

Yes, but I think you look at him as "hey, we can deal Fuller", not "hey, we don't even need a #1."

And even with Mo (and that is being very, very optimistic on what you are expecting from Mo) a line up of Fuller, Mo, Ward and Breeland against Flash, Edelman and AB...I mean Old England has the clear advantage.
Listening to 610 on the way home and if what they are saying is true that the Chiefs are not interested in Jalen because he may disrupt the locker room that is a BS excuse.

Honestly, it's the Chiefs linebackers that seem to suck the most.

BS excuse? Well, it isnt because he isnt good enough.

After seeing them jettison Marcus Peters, not wanting an annoying headache CB doesn't seem to be a BS excuse. It seems like a consistent organization decision. If they are prepared to deal with the consequences of not getting him then so be it.

Well here's the thing. Ramsey is much, much, much better than Peters and it shows. Peters gets the INT numbers because he jumps routes, Ramsey just straight shuts the best WR down every week. Hardly allows any catches.

Maybe? They've played teams that may well pick 1-2 in April.
But they also allowed 3 points in the Super Bowl to a pretty good offense.

So they've allowed 6 points in the last 3 games. Granted, the opponents in 2019 haven't been great, but consider this. Against a fully healthy Big Ben and a albeit bad Dolphins team. The Patriots have had something like 19 drives against them this year. 5 have ended in INTs, 9 of them ended in 3 and outs and 4 of the remaining 5 were punts or TOD.

That's pretty impressive regardless of who you play in the NFL.

Sure. All I'm saying is they're somewhere between good and historically great, and the quality of opponent so far doesn't help narrow it down much.

And, while Peters has not been good, the KC's secondary has been awful without him. Correlation/Causation yadda yadda, but the fact remains that KC's D needs help and it should be addressed right now today because they are 1 of 2 favorites to win a F'n Super Bowl and the other one keeps getting stronger.
