New England has finished in Top 10 of scoring defense in something like 14 of the last 15 years, so they'll finish pretty well.

I don't think there's really a question that right now today considering all the teams falling apart that New England is the most complete team in the league. KC has the more explosive offense and I've heard all summer from Chiefs' fans that they want to be just like in the low 20's for defense. I don't see them getting there standing pat on the secondary and am a little shocked a move has not been made already. You have to strike now.

Yeah right now in defensive rankings, they are 16th. After 2 weeks last year, they were 32nd. The opponents matter as 2018 was the Chargers and the Steelers. This year was Jags with a backup QB and a bad Oakland offense.

But here's what I think helps the Chiefs defense. The offense is even better than what they were last year. Opposing teams will have to become one-dimensional really fast in order to keep up. That favors the Chiefs to always have teams in passing mode to try and come back.

Missing Peters was only one portion of the struggle of the secondary last year. You have to remember at one time the starters in the secondary for the Chiefs were Scambrick, Watts, and Ron Parker. Sure, Peters could have taken one side away but with those three opposite that still is going to leave plenty of opportunities.

I don't get the slander on Jalen for being 'annoying' or a potential locker room issue. Now sure if the Chiefs trade for him and don't sign him long term that will be a problem. If that scenario takes place that would 100% be the Chiefs fault. He has said all along he wants a new contract that quite frankly he deserves. He is the best corner in the league and in a league where corners are a premium and there aren't a whole lot of them and the fact that Jax didn't pay him is baffling.

I sincerely hope that Veach and Co are in the final phase of negotiating a long term deal for Ramsey. He could step in right now and make the Chiefs the favorite to win this years Super Bowl and would pair very nicely in the future with a secondary that would feature Tyrann, Ramsey, and Thornhill.

Yes, other issues.

Just one thing is for sure: getting rid of Peters didn't make the chiefs D better.

Pretty sure he hasn't been able to negotiate any deal yet due to CBA. Player has to finish 3rd year before negotiations begin, I believe. But yes, Jacksonville basically said he wouldn't get a new deal int he foreseeable future.

But yes, he's the best corner out there. Chiefs should go get him if they are able. But it seems like the Chiefs have to pick between paying Jalen Ramsey and Chris Jones. If they pick Ramsey, a deal gets made. If they pick Jones, they stay put.

100% correct on that last point. Even though that D last year was screwed from the beginning.

I am reading reports on Twitter that the Chiefs could be very close to making a deal for Ramsey. Trying to work out picks and what the long term extension would be. Could mean that Jones deal doesn't get done. Disappointing because he is the best in the business not named Donald but perhaps you dump Hitch and Watkins and try to make it work. Either way Jones will be a very valuable trade candidate and if given the choice between Jones or Ramsey long term Ramsey is the better choice 10 out of 10 times. If the deal doesn't get done by today or early tomorrow I have no idea why Ramsey would want to or be allowed to play tomorrow.

True. Although, they did get their possible deep safety for plenty of years in Thornhill in the deal. I know that meant nothing for the 2018 season, but it did help them for the future.

Very good point as in all realities they traded Peters for Thornhill which I believe the Chiefs came out on the better end of that deal.

As if it weren't official already, Antonio Brown is an idiot.

Called it. Eventually his BS was going to out weight his talent and we have officially reached that point.

All jokes aside this dude needs real help.

I believe you called his locker room antics to be too much, which, that ain't it on this one.

AB and the Pats was a relationship that would have worked out, and then the civil lawsuit was filed, the SI article dropped, and AB went rogue on his attorneys.

Yes. AB just went full crazy. He seemed to be a great presence in the locker room, a good teammate in that 13 days and good with the media when they interview him.

But outside of football and structure, he's got no control.

Would be a little bit of poetic justice if Pats got a tampering charge for a guy they had for 13 days and 1 touchdown.

No Chiefs here. We're too close to the GD bengals so we get all of their games.

Baltimore looking very good. Damn, they just bludgeoned the Chiefs defense. With RB issues, Mahomes is going to have to be amazing to win this.

Tyreek + 5th rounder for Ramsey = Multiple Chiefs SB's.
